I am immensely impressed at the quality and performance of this French press.I needed a coffee maker that I could use to make several cups in the morning, where I could get a cup immediately and have another available in 10-20 minutes for my wife. I've used an Aeropress for years, and considered the Aeropress XL, but it's ridiculously priced for a few pieces of plastic and it's really designed for 2 cups brewed and consumed at the same time.When you open the box and pull this press out, you're immediately impressed by the weight and build quality. This isn't a thin glass vessel in a plastic carrier. The stainless steel, double walled construction has some heft. They even included an extra mesh filter, a nice touch.I was disappointed by Amazon's shipping. They sent it only in the manufacturer's box, which wasn't meant for shipping and the filter carrier was damaged by some impact. A few minutes with some hand tools and the anvil put it mostly back to true. It's not perfect, but it's not the manufacturer's fault.To see how this would perform, I ran an experiment:Started with coffee ground medium with a Cuisinart bur grinder.I used an additional paper filter, a few bucks for 100 on Amazon.Water boiled to 200 degrees fahrenheitFrench press at room temp, 60 degrees fahrenheit2 scoops coffee, 4 cups waterCeramic mug at room temperature, 71 degrees fahrenheitBrewed for 3 minutes, used slow press for extraction.Coffee at 160 degrees fahrenheit in cup.No groundsOutside of french press slightly warm to the touchThen I gave it 10 minutes, undisturbed to see what my wife's cup was going to be like.2nd ceramic mug at room temp, 71 degrees fahrenheitThe coffee was 153 degrees in cup, still no grounds.By comparison, the first mug of coffee is at 120 degrees fahrenheitThe double walled construction did a great job of retaining heat. I will need to use 5 cups of water next time. It was also very easy to clean.I would recommend this press to anyone looking to make a consistently tasty cup of coffee for more than one. Nice and study. My old Bodum broke after a 1 foot drop when I (stupidly) picked it up by the plunger. I have no doubts that this bulky french press would survive the same fall. There's also no random plastic bits inside , which my Bodum had (it's also the reason i wont get an Aeropress). Being double walled steel obviously makes it much heavier which might be a problem for older people. I like how there's lines engraved for water measurement. I wish the marker on the lid, which shows the direction, was a bit more obvious- but that's just a nitpick. Honestly this was a steal for the price i got it at.

So I wonder what took so long to make a double insulated French press but its awesome as far as holding the heat for an extended amount of time nearly two hours much longer than other French presses I have had. The top does feel cheap I don't think they used the same material for the top as they did the body. Minus one star. Its easy to clean and the flavor of the coffee was very nice. I do recommend it for the price from shopping other places besides here. It came with extra filters which is nice not sure I have ever needed to change them before but we will see. There is a scraping sound while its new of the filter against the inside of the pot. It doesn't really bother me I know there needs to be a nice seal so that larger particles of beans do not make it past. But might turn others off.

This is supposed to keep coffee/tea warm longer I haven't tried mine for an extended time yet but it's very sturdy and a good design

This was definitely a big step up from the cheap Walmart-style glass press that we used to use. Keeps the contents very hot, which is nice if you want to make a big batch, and it's very sturdy so don't have to worry about it breaking every time you put it in the dishwasher. We primarily use it to make spiced chai, but I'm sure it would work just as well with coffee or other things. Happy with this purchase.

Item does insulate and appeared decent quality. However, the lid-steam on the plunger rod broke where it connects to the metal base after five uses. Unfortunately, this happened two days after the company’s return policy expired. Deciding now whether to purchase another plunger assembly or just caulk the entire press up as a loss.

Después de meses de probar la prensa funciona perfecto: buenos filtros, conserva muy bien el calor por largo tiempo, buen diseño, robusta y alcanza para dos tazas y lo mejor: permite lograr un excelente sabor.

Es una prensa muy práctica sobre todo cuando hay niños, pues es resistente, no como las de cristal, un magnífico producto a un precio excepcional.

Es de mis mejores compras, de muy buena calidad, mantiene caliente, simplemente la mejor prensa que he visto y al mejor precio! Ya compre dos la segunda fué roja y también es de excelente calidad, solo cambia el color, el resto es exactamente igual.
