A fantastic book detailing all the coaching stock mark 1 &2 goes with my 1st edition of this book

This is a niche product but if you are running a model railway and wanting to be accurate about rolling stock then this is a tremendous help. To be fair so are his other books.If you are expecting pretty pictures or general information there are better titles but for accurate info on individual coaches superb.

Hugh is back on top form with this revised and updated edition of his work on BRs Mk1 and Mk2 coaching fleet. I can't quite believe that it's nine years since this work first appeared. Then the RRP was £45; now it's £10 less, though the print quality of this edition is as good, if not slightly better than the original.So what's different? Whilst the photos are identical to the 1st edition, coloured bands have been introduced within the numerical data to increase clarity of the coach listings. The small pictorial diagrams have been slightly improved, especially in respect of the bogie detail. The data has been updated, with some additional information added where it wasn't available earlier.Is it worth getting, if you have the 1st edition? Yes, I think so as there are certainly amendments and corrections have been made. Some errors do still persist though; for example, the incorrect comment that E13535 is at Paignton (p.91), is perpetuated in this new edition. It should be Torquay by the way.Maybe Hugh could be persuaded to do a follow-up volume in a similar style on Mk3 and Mk4 stock.
