Merchant delivers viable seeds - Growing the plant is up to you
Growing this plant follows my green thumb Granny's first rule for cultivating tropical seeds or cuttings: "Just because it isn't growing, doesn't mean its dead." So tend to these seeds in their soil with all the attention that you give to the rest of your established indoor tropical plants, and be patient. It's also important to have the correct expectations for growing this species. Papyrus produces micro-seeds, so small that they arrive as almost pollen specs. Place the seeds in small pots with a very shallow soil depth. Shallow soil is important for two reasons: one is because the seeds need light to activate, and the second reason is that these tiny seeds could get washed too far below the surface when you water them. Stranded too low in the soil, a seed doesn't have the light needed to activate nor the strength to reach the surface of the pot if it did. As an added precaution against stranding these micro-seeds too low beneath the surface, water them using a spray bottle on the mist setting. After five weeks, a micro-sprout appeared in one of the pots! Every few days then, more appeared! If not for tending to these micro-seeds in small pots with very close attention, these new sprouts could have been easily overlooked and gone neglected. After five weeks, a quarter of the seeds have sprouted and new ones continue to appear. After seven weeks the very first sprout has grown another shoot. Very enjoyable and a good addition to our tropical jungle.

papyrus seeds
I am very unhappy with this product. I ordered three packages of papyrus seeds and none of the seeds ever grew. Very disappointed.

Nothing Germinated
Completely disappointed. None of my seeds grew. Thank goodness they weren't very expensive. I'll stick to buying locally. Oh well, lesson learned.

One Star
Seeds never did germinate. I had to order plants that already had started to grow.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MERCHANT
COMPLETELY DISSAPPOINTED! Was supposed to get 50 seeds -- only received 36 (counted twice) ... Not that it would have mattered if I got the 50 because after over 1 month --- NOTHING! These seeds were to replace the same plants I had but were killed off by the very harsh winter. They went into a fishpond in 2 separate 25-gallon pots each with new pond plant media. I planted one completely submerged and the other "feet wet" (the surface exposed to the air but half of the planter submerged with the dirt "moist"). Neither one has yielded any results. VERY DISSAPPOINTED! Didn't get the prescribed number of seeds and of the ones I did, none sprouted thus far (water temp has been 65-72 degrees the entire time and all my other plants that didn't die off are thriving). I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MERCHANT!
