These are incredibly comfortable boots (EDITED)
UPDATE:Bought a second pair, if that tells you anything!!!They are a true lightweight/light duty hiking boot. I’m not saying that in a negative way, at all. They are super comfortable, have great traction and don’t weigh you down. Perfect for light hiking/ light landscape work!

Great Light Hikers
I bought these boots to use as my daily hikers. They are light, waterproof (have walked right through streams) and surprisingly good as far as support goes. They have a vibram outsole with semi-aggressive lugs that hold firm on slick surfaces and perform very well on/off trail. I really like the boots. I did get a blister on my left heel from the first few wears, but since then they have broken in nicely and are very comfortable. If you are looking for a light hiker, I recommend these.

Super light and comfortable boot
Asolo makes great bootsI also wear the Fugitive gtx's.My two cents on this bootSuper light, super comfortable, super well built. The cons, sole is very soft, too soft for hard-core hiking but probably perfect for the novice hikerI'm a hard-core hiker and hike step mountains so I knew this boot wouldn't handle that type of terrain, but that's not why i got itI bought it for the variety of landscaping work I do.I wanted light and comfy as I average 20,000+ steps a dayThis boot appears perfect for that!!!So moral of the story, know how your going to use a boot and purchase based on how you use itYou want comfort and light weight buy this! You want hard and steep hiking get a boot more designed for such a pursuit...

JUST WHAT I NEEDED FOR DAY HIKES
Perfect fit, lightweight, moderately stiff sole. Similar to Scarpa boots I have owned.

Lightweight Hikers are great.
These Asolo hikers are very lightweight yet seem well constructed. They have Gore-Tex (Yes Constanza that Gore-Tex) and a hearty Vibram sole. These are definitely closer to a sneaker then say a traditional timberland style boot. If you’re looking for something more rugged than a sneaker but not as heavy as a full boot these are a great option. These are more costly than a comparable Wolverine or no name Amazon boot, but the construction and materials and quality is better in my opinion and worth spending more for something that should last a few years.

Shoe durability
It seems that the last purchase of a solo shoes the material was much more durable and felt more ridge. This order the pric went way up and the quality went way down. I guess they have got to keep the share holders heppy.

Great looking comfortable hiking boots. What more can you ask for ??
The boots look great and seem to be well made . They are Asolos after all.I realy like the lacing system and overall fit.The foot bed is a bit thin but I usually switch them out anyway. As a matter of fact, I decided on using the Soft Sole Athlete foot beds I purchased from REI.I ended up cutting the cupped section off, along the back part of the asolo foot beds, and then set the new Soft Sole beds right on top .Double the cushion.I have since worn the boots on several long walks, mostly on concrete and have found them to be very comfortable.I specifically bought the asolos for a backpacking trip in the southern Utah desert this coming April.I like that they are light weight but yet have enough support for carrying a backpack over rough terrain for several days.I can hardly wait to put them to the real test this coming spring.I have no doubt that I made the right decision on the Asolo Terrain boots.
