A Church in Crisis: Pathways Forward

This book should be read by every Catholic and Bible-believing Christian. Just as we would take our vehicles to get the wheels calibrated, this book will help people recalibrate their worldview away from secular culture and back to the Word of God. Ralph Martin especially notes that the Church has all but stopped speaking about Hell and against sexual morality. He does a deep dive on how this has created major challenges for the Church in her mission to bring all people to know Christ.The author has an ability to not just take a hard look at Church leadership but also to encourage the reader to evaluate their own spiritual life. After reading this book I’m more motivated than ever to both grow in my own holiness and share the good news with others.

Ralph Martin, perhaps diplomatically, recognizes Bergoglio as the legitimate Pope. Maybe this prevents the loss of those lukewarm cafeteria Catholic readers who really need to discover what genuine Catholicism is by reading through this important book. The "spirit of the age" multitudes who think there is a Broadway to Heaven, and that sins can be committed freely and be forgiven in advance, and that the devil and hell are just symbols or ideas are still spiritually stoned on the corrupting smoke of Satan that was Vatican 2, a smoke so intoxicating that it led even Pope John Paul II to allow a Buddhist idol to be placed on a Catholic altar in the runaway "spirit of ecumenism". Now we have the pagan goddess Pachamama-pandering, climate worshiping anti-pope. The "legitimate pope" is the man who unleashed the demonic sexual predator McCarrick on the world after Pope Benedict had restrained him, the "Pope" who deals with Xi Jinping and just refused an audience with China's Cardinal Zen who is under communist fire and waited patiently for 3 days before Bergoglio refused him an audience, hoping for some intercession to ease the escalating CCP persecution of Catholics under his pastoral care. (Bergoglio did find time though for a pointless photo-op with NBA players.) That said this incredibly well-documented book makes the case that many bishops and priests are indeed heretics whether by will or by weakness, and the majority of the Novus Ordo laity are victims of the heresies promoted by Vatican 2. Martin is not shy about naming the guilty, in fact reading about the depth of corruption you'd have to say he's fearless. The author seems not to realize though, like so many of his enthralled modernist generation, that the few "good fruits" of Vatican 2 are buried by the massive degeneration of the Church that followed. It's like a beta test. When a reckless reform fails you go back to the restoration point that worked, in the case of the Church for 2000 years. Call a rollback to pre-1951 and the Latin Rite "rigid traditionalism" if you will, but as GK Chesterton reminds us, "When you take away the supernatural what remains is unnatural". And Vatican 2 with its Novus Ordo (New Order) decimation of everything that is transendant in the Catholic Mass is already ushering in the unnatural Novus Orbis Terrarum Ordinis. (New World Order) by weakening the last bulwark that could stand against it.

I first came across his book 'Crisis of Truth' In College in the early 90's... I came across his book 'Catholic Church at the end of an era' 2 weeks before my ordination to the priesthood May 18, 1996.. a book that changed my life...and now reading 'a Church in Crisis.' and if going full circle.I have also read most of Ralph M books. He is a prophet, and it was because of reading 'Catholic Church at the end of an era' that I sought the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.. a grace I was given 2 days after my ordination on May 20, 1996.Ralph M not only gives the situation of a Church in crisis... he knows the Power of Jesus and the Holy Spirit are able to breath new supernatural life in the Church and in our souls, new energy new light new power and love.I give this book 5 stars...

I wish I were a millionaire---I would buy enough copies of this book to pass out to every Catholic/Christian in the world. It will open your eyes, it will reaffirm your Faith, and it will bring you back to the Church if you have left it, or make you more devout if you have not. If you are a Bible-believing Christian of any Faith, you need to read this book. Ralph Martin does not sugar coat the problems in the Church, the problems with the Vatican, the Pope, the Cardinals and Bishops. But he also does not accuse, finger point, or attack. He DOES name names and lays out his case step by step. Thankfully his writing style is so interesting that you CANNOT PUT THIS BOOK down. I only stopped reading to eat and sleep until I finished the book. Ralph Martin is a brilliant theologian who thankfully is teaching in our schools/seminaries. The last 75 pages are his end notes so that you can research for yourself what he has put into his book. This is an AMAZING BOOK---a book for the Times in which we are living. If you have been asleep, read this book and WAKE UP!

Ralph Martin with competency and impartiality presents his view on the dangers the Church faces today.The book is an honest, unequivocal, brave and firm stand against departure from the 2000 years old Church teaching.Dr Martin demonstrates how compromise in the teaching and practice developed in the XX century and still carries on.The book is full of references to recent social events, opinions of influential people etc. and it confronts them with the Bible and Sacred Tradition. The author avoids judging intentions of people who are the source of today's confusion but deals with the issue on its own merit.I hope more lay people and clergy listen to voices like this and the Gospel of Jesus is preached with no alteration or watering down.

Received this book a few days ago and am only 3 chapters in. These first chapters are worth buying it by themselves and I am sure the rest of book will continue to be excellent. Reading the honest account of where the Church is today made me feel physically sick however, the only way to overcome is to face up to where we are, repent and teach the truth of the gospel. Highly recommended.

Essential reading. Articulates lucidly what many Catholics know to be true. Ralph Martin is a much needed prophet of our time, helping us discern the truth.

I recommend this to all Catholics who wish to understand the current crisis in a church and what we can personally do about it. I'm very impressed with Ralph Martin and his devotion to the Faith. This book is also very well written and readable. I found it trustworthy and balanced.

A must read for any true and honest Catholic. All glory be to God, forever and ever, Amen.
