Just Like The Jimmy Dore Show
The book is just like the Jimmy Dore show. It’s no surprise that a book by Jimmy Dore is full of the ideas presented on his show. So if you want an introduction to Dore’s ideas ,one of the most important YouTube Leftists, or just to read his core ideas or even to introduce friends to his thoughts , this is a good book.

Know what to expect to fully enjoy this book.
It would feel inappropriate for me to rate this book as anything other than five stars. Jimmy Dore is a comedian first, and a political commentator second. Throughout the book, he makes many cogent points on politics, which are likely to evoke critical thinking. Use his points as a starting point for additional research and food for thought. I say this because in his book, Jimmy Dore does not tend to delve into issues with any significant depth. He vaguely acknowledges this at the start of the book when he says to treat the book as a TV and invites readers to skip around. He covers many topics; at times, any three given pages address three different subject matters. Nonetheless, his competence on addressing contentious issues is made evident as the book goes on.Personally, I have always enjoyed Jimmy Dore most when he is giving political commentary, like on TheYoungTurks. He often goes on passionate tangents, and sprinkles in the occasional joke. That is the Jimmy Dore that appeals to me. This book is extremely heavy on the comedy, and sometimes it gets distracting from the point. I get more out of his enthusiastic speeches/rants than I do his straight up comedy, although he is undoubtedly funny. His comedy routines do often include a political spin, but I prefer when funniness is not the focus. I like to see Jimmy Dore's pure fiery, which is what viewers often get a glimpse of when he is in a traditional talk-show setting. One could describe him as "raw" when he is not playing the role of a comedian. Just know that this book is geared for people who already appreciate his humor, and take a liking for his traditional comedy routines. If you are like me and value Jimmy Dore for his ability to capture an audience (in a non-comedy setting) and make stirring points in an interesting manner, this book certainly contains that, but I have an alternate suggestion:Watch the video "Jimmy Dore Looks At America, Conservatives & Media" by TheLipTV in which he talks about his book, or view the interview TheYoungTurks did on him, which also addresses the book. Between those two videos, the main ideas of the book are addressed and you see Jimmy Dore cleverly address hot-button issues without spending $12 or so.

TRIGGER WARNING: Still relevant!
Jimmy Dore is a breath of fresh air. If you are into politics and despise the establishment politicians from both sides, you'll probably love this book. If you're a red/blue cultist, then you'll probably be triggered.

Should be required reading of every U.S. citizen and would be citizen
Read this book if you have any interest in humanity and America. You will not know whether to laugh or cry, as there are ample opportunities to do either or both. "Your Country is Just Not That Into You" should be required reading on both sides of the aisle, and in every college and school in the land. The death of the media is often evoked while pointing to Walter Cronkite as the end of an era. While news was certainly held back and spun in the 20th century, there were still alternatives not owned by a monolithic company whose aim was profit. The FCC forced certain public service obligations on media companies by law. As Dore points out, in the highly liberal Los Angeles area, media is owned by a highly not liberal media empire. The repetition of outright lies presented as "fact" in the 24-hour loop of TV news cycles has turned the country into a nation of robots, motivated by fear, not compassion. The economic breakdown caused by the greed of investment banks "too big to fail" has created a depression-era fear in the workplace. I recall hearing that "A recession is when your brother-in-law is out of work. A depression is when you are."Dore's unflattering portraits of the carnival barkers and proven-wrong pundits on today's television would be depressing but for the Internet, where anyone under 55 gets their actual news today. He is fighting the good fight and the book is but one front. The podcasts and YouTube videos are a voice of salvation in the fight to get money out of politics.

Politically sharp
Witty remarks about the state of the politics in the USA. Written by one of the few people I trust regarding politics, who tells the truth about both sides (hint: neither are good or trustworthy). Besides the part about religion, which I 1. disagree with and 2. think doesn't do much to elevate the book, as it's not really relevant to the rest of the content.

My Favorite Comedy Show in Book Form
For those who are listeners to radio show or podcast of 'The Jimmy Dore Show' this book is basically the written word version of the themes covered on the show, which is to say it's a collection of angry but extremely funny criticisms of the corrupt politicians and the dumber-than-dirt voters who elect them. The chapters are a narrative by Jimmy combining his own background with themes of politics, race, and culture with transcripts from hilarious Mike MacRae phone calls sprinkled throughout the chapters. The Mike MacRae calls always lose his spot-on impression skills when written down in a book but just imagine his impression when you read them and they're just as funny. For those who aren't familiar with The Jimmy Dore Show, imagine the type of insightful, liberal-leaning current events comedy talk show along the lines of 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' but much angrier, more direct, without the wimpy pulling of punches, and instead of sarcastic but polite interviews of creeps like Bill O'Reilly you get hilarious interviews with a brilliant impressionist of blowhards like O'Reilly that delivers a far funnier (and more honest) interview than anything Stewart has ever done on his show. Now imagine this awesome show written down as a book and you have this book.

A must read.....
Jimmy Dore is one of the smartest, most honest person in America. This well written book, really displays and expresses all that is corrupt and wrong with American politics. I couldn't help from laughing and getting angry, while reading this book. Jimmy is well worth following on You Tube. His show is a real eye opener. Tune in, if you want to hear the truth about, the political corruption happening all over America.

Brilliant, clever, politically astute, and hilarious.
I'm actually from the other side of the pond but I'm a bit of a politics & comedy junkie. Its brilliantly written and politically passionate, but without compromising the humour at all. Its witty thoughout.I already loved Jimmy and this book has confirmed what I already thought: he's 100 times smarter than most current politicians and media hacks, and would probably do a better job!If your apolitical or right wing you may disagree - but then you wouldn't be looking at this book anyway! But if you're a lefty, like me, even if you too are foreign its a great read - sadly most observations are also relevant to the UK.
