Failed, and now I have to send it back to China!!
I bought this unit to act as a media centre which could sit under my TV. I'd previously used a Minix unit to do this which, having served faithfully for many years, has started to crash due to a hardware fault, so just wanted to replace it with a similar silent Win10 box.I found this unit on Amazon.co.uk and, since there was no information stating otherwise, assumed it would be coming from somewhere fairly local. When I received the unit, I disconnected my old Minix and put this unit in its place. On powering it up, the first thing I noticed was the picture flickering very badly during the BIOS POST stage, and then once Win10 had loaded there was also a missing border from around the desktop. So, not only is the graphics adapter a bit dodgy, it doesn't even conform to the HDMI specification. I tried it on 2x HD TVs and both had the missing border with no easy way to fix it.The next thing I noticed was that the keyboard and mouse and external HDD weren't working. Having used them 10 minutes earlier on the Minix, I knew there was no problem with them, so I tried swapping to other USB ports. Out of the 6x USB ports I could only find one which worked with any of my devices. At this point, I re-packaged the unit and requested a return.A day later, I got the return approval email and was forwarded to the address label. It now appears that, not only did it come from the other side of the planet (which I was completely unaware of), but I now have to foot the postage for its return trip to China. As a hardware design engineer who regularly designs motherboards and PCIe cards, I find it baffling that this unit got through any level of production-testing and was send out in this state.
