These are simply not the valves you are looking for. I can not get either of these to stop leaking. And in trying to figure it out...when you can run the threads all the way up by hand with almost ZERO resistance, you know that is it absolutely NOT NPT thread.You will not get these to stop leaking with all the Teflon tape and/or pipe dope in the world. You can NOT tighten them tight enough, you are wasting your time.I just went to a local store and got true NPT valve and installed it with absolutely no leaks whatsoever. Unless you plan to use these on pipe with a straight/non-tapered thread, you will be disappointed. The thing is WHY do they say they are NPT??? If they do not know better, they do not need to be in the business of making/selling them.I have a new refrigerator being delivered tomorrow. Today, I was getting the ice maker line ready. I wasted entirely too much time trying to get these things to stop leaking when that should have never been an issue. I would have bought the correct valve to start with if they had advertised these correctly. This is absolute nonsense.

I ordered some because I need to buy some time before replacing on in wall valve in my shower. The shower head was leaking a drop every few minutes. I put this valve in line with the shower head and turn it off after every shower. Works great! I would not use this as a permanent solution though. My new usage for the valves are for my low point drains on my camper. They put little caps on the lines but these fit and now all I have to do between camps is open them up and do a low point drain to avoid stagnant water build up!

The valves themselves are nice quality but BE WARNED: THE THREADS ON THESE VALVES ARE NOT NPT. They are not tapered, so they will not seal easily without washers, a lot of teflon tape, or using soft fittings and a lot of luck. This meant I had to go to the store to get washers for the female sides of the valves to do a standard sink install, which makes ordering these valves online kinda silly in my situation. But hey, they work now, so I didn't have to return them.
