Great wood shelf. Screws were grabber type. Not machine screws. I would highly recommend this shelf.

This product matched the product description but it is really much smaller than I thought. Shame on me for not reading the description more carefully however, I can only give this 3 stars. The build quality is mediocre and the included hardware is pretty weak. The main issue is the attachment to the wall. The anchors provided should be fairly strong but they are designed to slide into slots in stainless steel plates on the back of the backboard. These are held on by 2 tiny screws each that will fail long before the drywall gives out. If you buy this, plan on drilling some mounting holes in it and using your own hardware - the provided mounting plates will not hold the force of anything significant.

The shelf looks nice and feels sturdy enough. The screws for the hangers are cheap and a standard Phillips screw driver will rip into them if you aren't careful. Also, one of the screws for the hangers is part way under the hook so it's a bit of a pain to screw in (simple engineering oversight). But my main issue is with the screw support holes on the back of the shelf. They're spaced 19" apart. Most standard stud width is either 16" with some being 24" apart. Using a 19" spacing between them is a completely moronic oversight.

The instructions say to use a drill for the wall holes, which was fine. I do love how it looks and all.1st Problem-On the back of the main wood piece, there are no predrilled or starter holes. (This is where you screw in the hooks from the back). Using a Phillips Screwdriver & Elbow grease just do not cut it. The product did come with extra screws, and I am glad because 2 got warped. Advice: screw them in first to make a hole, unscrew, then attach the hooks.2nd Problem- Made a Predrilled hole for the wall screws. Next, I screwed in the first factory screw, and the head fell completely off. I just left that screw completely in the wall because I am not digging that thing out.

The wood itself is fine. It's the crappy hardware! If you want to buy this shelf, I suggest you go out and buy proper screws. The screws designated to be placed in the wall aren't deep enough if you hit a stud. The tiny black screws to mount the hangers on are ridiculous! I had to drill into the pre-drilled holes in an attempt to get them screwed in all the way. I tried a small Phillips screw driver medium sized screw driver, and the drill and no matter what, the screw heads stripped and would not go all the way in, not even deep enough to hold the hangers in place half sturdy. I had to spend way too much time putting this piece up. I ended up just grabbing my own screws out of my screw kit and used those, even though the heads are silver and not black. I should've returned this product, but I had already invested so much time putting it together, I figured the things I hang on it will cover the different colored screw heads. Oh! And it's only "sturdy" because I used longer screws with thin heads to mount to my wall.

This is a great shelf. I have it hanging inside the door for hats, purses and sweatshirts. The size is perfect. I added a pic so you can get an idea. The top has a nice shelf, so you can see I added a sign to make it "beachy". It was a little difficult to install. It has holes in the back where the screws go and it was hard getting the holes "just right" so they fit. But once it was up, it has been a great addition to the beach house.

It’s solid, easy to install, a good size, and the shelf has groves to help hold plates or pictures in place, and I would have given it 5 stars but for: the holes through which you attach the hooks are progressively less deeply drilled leaving the last set of holes on the right almost non-existent. I had to do a little drilling to complete it. The other thing that was a bit disappointing was that the white wash was incomplete leaving the wood looking somewhat like an animal print. A little wood grain is good but this is way too much solid brown. A little paint has fixed that. I wouldn’t have gone through the extra steps if the product wasn’t otherwise worthwhile so while it took a couple of extra steps I’m still happy with the basic product.

Nice entry way shelf to hang coats. I thought the hooks were going to be black, but they are bronze/gold color. A can of farmhouse matte black spray paint took care of that. I also spray painted the screws were a different color than the hooks too.

We are veryanger happy with the look and practiality of the hallway coat hanger.Very satisfied
