We needed a second umbrella. We bought this one with METAL ribs after initially buying and returning a similar one with PLASTIC ribs. If you want an umbrella that will last and get your money's worth, buy the more expensive METAL one. We've used it a few times, it's held up well so far, and is almost identical to an umbrella we have owned for over 10 years. We initially had bought the cheaper one ($100 less) without noticing that the ribs were PLASTIC. One of the plastic ribs BROKE the *first time* I opened the umbrella. There's no way that plastic umbrella will hold up to strong beach winds or the moderate use we give them - 8 to 12 weekends a year. This is a good quality umbrella.

We have had this umbrella for 2 years now and it is still in great shape along with the carrying case.We frequent the beach as we live near it, so yes it is getting used. Neighbors keep asking about this product so I decided to take a minute and review it.

This umbrella is the real deal.

We live at the beach and needed an umbrella that will last. This is a heavy, well made and large sized umbrella that fits the bill for our needs. It is not light to carry, but once up it is sturdy and offers a large amount of shade. It resembles the rental umbrellas in appearance and sturdiness. We're very happy with our purchase.

Very nice umbrella! It can handle very breezy conditions at the beach. Only 4 stars because the size is measured over the top of the umbrella. We ordered a 6.5 foot umbrella because that is what our other one is from another company. When we opened this one it was a whole lot smaller. When I measured from side to side underneath it was only 5.5 ft. So to get the true 6.5 ft to sit under we had to exchange it for what they call 7.5ft.

If you can get past the cost, this thing rocks. Umbrellas were flipping inside out, canopies were flipping over all around us. And this thing was a rock. We noticed they were the only covers (of any sort) that didn’t have problems. The setup was very fast too. It’s so heavy it basically dug itself rocking back and forth about 1/3 down. I’ve tried it all, camping tents, sand bag stretch canopies with poles, and other umbrellas. All are inferior.
