This is a great book for singers or persons just wanting to learn some of the basics of singing. Written in an easy and unforgettable format. It's good to have around just to help you remember what you need to do to keep your voice in shape!

After over 20 years of studying voice, I am almost at a loss for words to describe this pearl of a book. To the point and in few words it goes straight to the point on many problems that can arrive during a course of a study of voice. Easy to read, takes work to be understood. I can read the same sentence many times over to ponder what it means to me. I am sure it will be beneficial for anyone who decides to take on the work of reading this book. Vocal wisdom is a fitting title.

How to be a singing artist 101. Definitely a must have by any vocal teacher, coach, student or professional.

Just quote after quote of amazing advice. I swear reading this book serves as a voice lesson, and warms you up. Get's your brain exactly where it needs to be for singing. Great for new, curious singers, and professionals alike.

I wish more teachers would pay attention to this fundamental information. Vindication for those teachers who think breath support is important.

Vocal Wisdom really gives you some ideas about what is important when singing and what might help you, technically and mentally, to improve your singing skills.

So glad to have this book. As a singer I really enjoy the advice that though written over a century ago, it is still totally applicable today!

This book still packs a big pedagogical punch. I use it at the beginning of my graduate vocal pedagogy seminar to introduce some basic pedagogical concepts and then interpret them mechanistically.

As a singing teacher and professional singer - and forever a student, I have purchased hundreds of books over the years about voice, pedagogy, techniques, physiology, acoustics ... this is the most ‘simple’ book I own and yet the best.Cast off any overbearing need for knowledge and drink in the wisdom of this book.Nothing technical - purely holistic psychological and minimal physiological advice from the student of a master teacher.Written in the style of an old pedagog yet published in 2010 so one of the ‘newer’ old resources. It doesn’t specify ‘technique’ in detail but offers points of consideration and re focusses is on the one thing I tell people daily: singing is natural; be ‘aware’ but don’t over think!

An amazing treasure that may need to be read multiple times depending on the level of voice technician and voice knowledge the person has (however learning never ends). A big part of voice production and technique is understanding the sensations your own voice can makeAnd where is made which other singers may have a hard time explaining which is natural because it is complex. This book talks about all of these sensations beautifully and complement the learning of voice technique. Knowing what sensations to feel is so important because it can guide you on your own sensations and help you identify wrongdoing. I will have to say that this book helped me clarify breathing and many other subjects. This book will give you tools to complement your learning journey.

Wasn’t totally what I was expecting . Was hoping for something that would show technique and how to use it. Non of that was in it. Just spoke about other things. Wanted a book that focused on techniques for the voice. Was slight disappointed.
