Look beautiful, that's why I gave it 3 stars
So the manufacturer got back to me on this and told me that during sometimes during shipping (due to rough ride) combination may slip a one number up or down form original set combination. I played around with a few possibilities and can state that it's opening every time now (as opposed to about 15% of the time). It's now no longer a very large paperweight. My only regret at this time is not purchasing direct through Steelwater's website as it would have been about $600 cheaper. My original review - Looks beautiful, that's why I gave it 3 stars. I would have given it 5 stars had the combination worked.

Love This Safe!
Short Version: I got what I expected. Money was spent where it made a difference, not where it did not. Delivery was indeed free and as advertised.Long Version: I've been drooling over the Steelwater safes for a few years. As purchase time approached, I emailed Customer Service a couple of times, but never got a response. After placing the order, I got emails saying what to expect. I called Customer Service after a minor hiccup involving the delivery company. They took care of the problem immediately. In January the weather in Wisconsin isn't perfect for moving safes. It had to go into the cellar of my 100 year-old farmhouse, so I wasn't going to roll my new 900 pound baby across my backyard with a dolly. In short, this wasn't going to go the way the YouTube videos show safes being moved. I got smart and hired a moving company to move the safe from my driveway to the basement. ($600) The movers did their thing and put the safe on the 5-inch pedestal I built to protect my new safe from occasional water on the floor. At this point I should remind everybody just how useful it is to check to be sure there is a way to get your safe to it's new home. (Build an empty box the same size as the safe and try moving it there yourself.)The Heavy Duty version of this safe that I bought really is quite heavy. It came with a paint scrape the size of the palm of my hand on the lower back, but as that will now be facing the foundation of my house for the next 100 years or more, I refuse to worry about it. Bolting the safe to the floor had two slight problems: This is a Chinese built safe, so when they drilled the holes in the floor, they used a 12mm drill bit instead of a 1/2" bit. The hole would not quite accept the 1/2" concrete bolts I was supposed to put through it, so I got out my own 1/2" bit and opened up the holes a little. If the Chinese had used a 13mm drill bit, this wouldn't have been a problem. The other problem is the bolt holes were positioned a little too close to the walls. The process of bolting the safe down would have been easier if the holes had been drilled an inch farther in in both directions. The dial-only combination lock.I got my safe with a dial-only combination lock. I am heavily into electronics and know the electronic kind of lock WILL eventually fail, even if that takes 50 years. As I don't expect this safe to ever move again, I want the lock to work for at least the next 100 years, long after I'm dead and gone. I've never heard of or experienced this kind of lock before, it's definitely not the kind of lock you used in High School. Not only do you need to know the numbers, you need to count the revolutions of the dial to get everything right. It's a little hard to explain, but you won't know if you got everything right until the dial stops turning. It seems to me this is one high class lock. (Hint: Keep the directions for working the lock.)Customer ServiceEmail: I have now sent Steelwater three emails, and have seen no indication anyone has ever read any of them. This includes after I bought the safe and included my order number.Phone: Customer Service over the phone is quite good. They treated me like I was a human being and pretty much took care of problems promptly. I say "pretty much" because it took Tech Support three business days to get back to me regarding a problem I had with the LED lighting. They did call back though and a couple days later Express Mailed a new part for me. That part is now installed and everything is working.Would I do anything differently? Yes. Next time I'd buy a bigger house to handle the biggest safe Steelwater makes, and I wouldn't send email to Customer Service.
