After Hours: For Violin and Piano (Faber Edition: After Hours)

Nice selection of slightly jazzy tunes with CD. Suitable for grades about 4-6 with some third position work. Tunes are relatively light but the position work on some is challenging for grade 4. However most are interesting enough to make you persevere. My only criticism is that the CD vionlin melody is played on something like a glockenspeil which is slightly odd and hard to hear when you are playing/learning the tune.

Some beautiful pieces.

The piano part and violin parts are good. The music is good but the CD is not played with a violin - it sounds like a sort of electronic instrument so apart from hearing how the tunes go it is not useful for the violin player as there is no difference to the ear between the piano part and the violin part.
