Just what I needed for my "gaming" headset
I have a nice "gaming" headset with over-the-ear cups and a boom mike, which I wanted to use for online meetings and classes. But it wouldn't work with my desktop PC because the front panel jack doesn't recognize a microphone, and my headset has a 1/8" TRRS plug as a connector. What to do?This adapter was perfect. I plugged in the headset to the adapter, plugged the adapter into a USB port, and everything worked right out of the box. All I had to do was select input and output devices on Zoom, Skype, etc. 100% instant Linux compatibility. The adapter has a built-in conversion chip which works transparently and with no noticeable loss of sound quality. You do have to watch out for one thing. There are two TRRS standards. This adapter works with the more common one. But if you have some older headsets there is a chance it will be of the other standard. If the headset works plugged in to the jack of a recent laptop, it will probably work with this adapter on whatever device you plan to use it with. And if not, Amazon has a good return policy.I thought the adapter may have been just a little pricey but with the built-in chip doing a quality job it seems worth it, especially for instant no-hassle operation. Five stars.

Linear config.
This adapter was linear, which i liked as it allowed me to plug it into the back of my laptop without protruding side-to-side. my last adapter was lateral, and prevented you from using the USB next to it.I had to change all my sound settings. Not sure why. annoying. my last adapter, i plugged it in and it worked without any sound changes. This one, it bumped out my default settings and I had to keep fiddling with it to get it back to the settings i wanted.---updated. I am using this adapter for a podcast, not gaming. I noticed on the playback, the sound was "tinny". My old adapter didn't distort the sound this way. When I spoke to the manufacturer, he offered no advice on either issue (tinny or settings knock out). He said his product was solely for gaming, PS4 and for PC's (even though the listing says it is ok for MAC's).

Not A Bad Buy At All
I wanted to wait a few weeks before truly giving out a review about it just in case anything happened. But I'm actually very happy about it.I know some will probably have issues depending on the situation cause not all are manufactured good. That's just life in general, you get lucky or you don't lol.For me though, the sound is great, I can finally listen to videos at night or when I don't want to hear anything during the day. Especially since my garbage MSI somehow the audio jack just.....was somehow detached from my computer like a lego piece so I can't use it. So it's nice to have that back to where I can watch videos without having to disturb anyone. The sound quality is just fine, I have no problems with it, and pretty durable seeing how I'll admit I'm not the best at taking care of my stuff all the way lol. But if it can handle me it can handle you too lol

Needed quickly and satisfied so far...
I placed an order for this USB to 3.5mm headphone/mic jack to satisfy an urgent need. My work computer has had its microphone jack disabled in the BIOS and I’ve been having to use my home machine to support virtual collaboration sessions while teleworking. I needed to find a solution as my home machine was needed by my family. I found a number of suitable options on Amazon, but my headset has an inline microphone configuration (one plug for mic and stereo audio). Many of the other options I looked at had the microphone jack separate from the headphone jack. I took a chance after finding this product and couldn’t be happier. I’ll update if the situation changes over time. So far so good!

It solves my problem with a KVM system
I have four older PCs on a HDMI KVM and only two of them are KVM compatible, with three of them producing terrible sound through normal means. When I plugged this sound adapter into my KVMs sharing port and cycled through each PC, they all picked it up (including the XP machine) and now I've got great sound on all four machines.Mind you, when I say great sound, I mean great for a 60 year old, never been anything close to an audiophile, tech type. As long as it's clear, doesn't have obvious distortion, and my music/games sound good, I'm happy!

It works with a Chromebook! Plug and play!
My Chromebook sound system is deficient for some reason (when I was Zooming) when using a corded headphone with mic, and I wanted to try a discrete audio system (input/output) to test if it was a hardware problem. This time via USB I could easily hear my meeting, and they could hear me. Music sounds clear and full spectrum as well. The item arrived quickly, and isn't bulky/getting in the way. My only regret is my limited USB port number (1).

Perfect solution to my problem
The headphone jack/audio output on my laptop stopped working, so I ordered the PELAT USB External Sound Card USB to 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter to restore the headphone function. It was the perfect solution to the problem. The adapter works perfectly, with very good fidelity and high output - I have my volume level nearly turned off. I can once again listen to music from my laptop without disturbing anyone. Great product, highly recommended.

Works perfectly with PS4
I purchased this specifically for use with my Playstation 4 console. It works perfectly, plug and play! I now have my PS4 set up to work with my projector without having to have sound through a controller. I just plugged the soundcard in to one of the front usb slots, connected it to an external speaker with a 3.5mm audio cable, and now I have sound with no wires from my controller. LOVE IT!

I picked the right adapter!
I'm no audiophile but I'm pretty sure it made my gaming headset sound even better. The cord length is awesome, I have so much more range of motion than when my headaet is plugged into the back of my PC.I broke it with a week though lol. Stupid me brushed past my PC and bent the USB end out of the housing but it still works great! Just a little more cautious when I move past.Great product if you're not an idiot. Even gooder if you're not an idiot.

It's absolutely perfect.
I was concerned while ordering this because I was going to be using it on a Dell r410 server that I've converted into a gaming machine, and it's never had a soundcard of any kind in it. It arrived and I immediately unwrapped it and plugged it in and 10 seconds later I was listening to music. The materials are durable feeling and I love the fact that it doesn't take up a bunch of space. Sound quality is excellent and no interferences from any surrounding electronics. Excellent value for the price and I recommend it very highly.

Great little usb sound adapter
Just what I needed, wanted a second sound card so I could play around with virtual DJ, it works great and at that price you can't go wrong. Just plug it in and go, I used this adaptor for my head phones and connected my laptops sound adapter to a bluetooth speaker and now DJ'ing up a storm.Appears to be of decent build quality Nylon Braided Cord and Aluminum case on the usb side, I got the 20" version and it is in fact just over 20 inchesSo overall recommended Cheap, effective, and easy to use.

Works as advertise!
Worked as advertised, simply insert the USB into any available USB port on the pc and it detects automatically the driver and gets ready to use right away. I have used my iPhone headphones and the sound is great to talk online.
