This battery operated candle with silicone-covered bulb flickers like a real candle and can be used indoors or out to create a special mood. It's great for social occasions or outdoors where a regular candle would not stay lit. It's also useful for religious or musical presentations and processions. It makes an attractive focal point when included in many craft items such as wreaths and figurines. Only 6-3/4" long, including the silicone covered bulb, the sturdy antique yellow plastic case has attractive drip marks on the side. It turns on and off with a twist of the base which is tapered to fit into a standard candle holder if required. The candle uses two AA batteries (not included) and is designed for a battery life up to 300 hours providing a top quality, alkaline battery is used. This offer is for 2 of these Battery Candles.

Take 2 for an Old-Fashioned Good Time!
THE FACTS: I was looking at some similar candles, but I chose these first, because I could get TWO for a fairly good price, AND because they looked old-fashioned and rustic!I ordered these on 4-4, and they arrived on 4-9!They are slightly less yellow, and slightly more cream-colored than the Amazon.com picture would suggest, but they look good, and they take two AA batteries. When you flip each candle over in your hand, you'll see two tiny battery icons (these are located on the "back" side of the outside of each candle), so that you'll see exactly which way the batteries should be facing when you want to change them. When you want to change the batteries, simply turn the base of each candle to the left, replace the batteries (+ side up), and turn the base to the right. When you're ready to turn one of these candles on, turn the candle base even further to the right; you can always turn the candle off again by turning the base to the left just enough so that the candle will "go out".THE GOOD: I also got some of the other silicon-tipped candles that I'd been looking at, and THESE two look the LEAST "plastic", the MOST rustic, AND the most STYLISH! There's a lot to love about these two candles!First of all, there's the fact that I got two candles. I'm going to give one away, and keep the other for myself, and it's cool to be able to do that for a reasonable amount of money.I love, love, LOVE the antiqued/ grubby/ rustic look of these candles, because it really evokes mental images of cobweb-covered attics, mysterious endeavors, and mining camps from days gone by! I could see these candles being used in productions of old-timey musicals like "Paint Your Wagon" and "Les Miserables"!The flicker bulbs give the candles another dimension of old-fashioned goodness! Imagine...rustic-looking candles that will actually flicker mysteriously...WITHOUT causing you to worry about a fire. These cool candles don't require one to obtain some strangely-labelled button cell batteries, either, and there are no "On/Off" switches that can break.I love the color of these candles! It's an already-old-fashioned shade of creamy yellow, which, when "aged", looks really cool! The grey-brown "dirt" makes each candle look unique and interesting. These candles can stand on their own, albeit precariously, but that's sort of cool, too.THE BAD: It can be tough to close the battery compartments of these candles; you may have to turn the base of a candle "backwards" at first, in order to get it to close properly. I have also noticed that when one of the candles is turned off, there is a slight gap between the battery compartment and the candle; that might potentially be able to be hidden by the top of a candlestick, though. That's the other issue...I really don't have any candlesticks that will FIT these two cool candles. It's a good thing that they CAN sort of stand on their own.I WISH that these rustic candles came in other colors... :(THE UGLY: I truly wish that these candles looked more alike. The first candle isn't as "aged", but its silicon bulb ends in a squiggle that looks really cool. The second candle looks better, with regards to the amount that it was "aged", but the seam of its bulb is located on the "front" side of the candle (Remember that the "back side" of the candle features battery icons), and its bulb doesn't look nearly as awesome as the bulb of the first candle. In my opinion, the very tops of the candles should have been aged, as they look slightly fake; they're just sort of THERE, looking slightly too clean, supporting each bulb. Oh, well...I guess...I also don't like the fact that the "dirt" looks unrealistic in places, and that it looks kind of weird and obvious...and slightly mechanical...on the right-hand seam of each candle.RECOMMENDATIONS: I WOULDN'T recommend these candles to anybody who's much under the age of 8, or so, as they are not toys, and I wouldn't recommend them to people who have Arthritis, as the battery compartments of these candles are tough for even me to deal with.I think that this inexpensive pair of candles would work well for...* THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS: Make use of these rustic-looking, no-fire-hazard candles in such theatrical productions as "Macbeth", "Paint Your Wagon" and "Les Miserables", and make those candle-lit scenes even more magical.* HAUNTED HOUSES & HARVEST FESTIVALS: Make your next Haunted House event even more spooooooooky...by adding these faux candles, which look kind of realistic AND old! If you're decorating for a Harvest Festival, make everything look a little bit more rustic with these candles.* RUSTIC DECORATING SCHEMES: Add these candles to your old-fashioned, rustic dining table...for mealtimes that truly FEEL rustic and homey. Place one of these candles on each bedside nightstand in The Master Bedroom, for a more old-fashioned "decorated" look. Add these candles to your mantle during the Holidays, and evoke for your guests images of fireside family time.* WEDDINGS/ ANNIVERSARIES: Give your wedding an old-fashioned, romantic look that's fire-safe. You could even give these candle sets as favors.* SPECIAL GIFT-GIVING OCCASIONS: Tie these two candles up with a pretty bow, and give them as a housewarming gift, a Birthday gift, a congratulatory gift, a wedding gift, a holiday gift, a graduation gift, a romantic gift, etc.IN CONCLUSION: These faux candles have a slightly more realistic look than most, and they're available for a good price, so what you'll get is...twice as nice. Sorry, but I just HAD to say that! ;)

Just what I wanted
I love these. They were perfect for my needs. I wanted wall sconce lighting without having to hard wire them. These were the perfect solution. I was a little worried because they don't have timers, but that is really no problem at all. It's probably better since I don't need them "on" everyday. They give a soft flickering glow. I couldn't be happier and so glad I paid attention to the good reviews. No, they don't look like real candles, but neither do hard wired wall sconces.

simple LED candles but they work very well
These LED candles are very simple, but they work very well compare with other LED candles what I have recently bought; two AA batteries are enough to "run" them for more then two weeks (that is the first pleasant surprise); the candles are plastic but if you use any acrylic paints you will be pleasantly surprise with effects; just be creative....plus they are very affordable!
