Korean Grammar for Speaking is the perfect book for mastering Korean grammar. I'm a beginner and I just began studying Korean as a New Year Resolution and to prepare for a trip to South Korea next year. As someone who has studied Japanese (which has a lot of similarities to Korean grammar), I knew getting a good grammar book would be crucial in grasping the language. This book exceeds my expectations. Not only is it a grammar book, it specifically focuses on spoken Korean. This is the Korean you will use most often if you plan to live or travel in Korea. This is the Korean you want to learn if you don't want to sound like the an outdated textbook.The quality of the cover and the pages of the book is high. The pages are made of good strong material so if you're using an eraser you don't have to worry about erasing too hard. And if you're using gel ink, you don't have to worry about the ink bleeding through the pages.For each Unit, on the left pages, grammar points are introduced. The pages are in color and grammar points are shown in red. Sample sentences are provided for each point. Korean sentences are in hangul only (no romanization in this book, except for when the Korean alphabet is introduced in the beginning). Each Korean sentence and new verbs/conjugations have the English translation provided which is helpful for beginners like me who want to make sure they understand the sentence correctly. This also makes the book, perfect for self-study. On the right pages, you'll find the following kind of exercises to help reinforce the grammar you learn:1. Complete the blanks2. Complete the sentence using a word bank3. Write your own sentences4. Unscramble the sentences5. Complete the conversation and many other types of exercisesBecause of the variety of exercise types, I never get bored writing in this book. And because the grammar points are so clear and straightforward, I'm able to understand how the grammar is used right away and feel that I've been progressing through the book at a nice pace.Another pro of this book is that the author, Song Won also created mp3s to go with it. The mp3s are great for verifying pronunciation, memorizing vocab, shadowing, and for listening to on your iphone or android while commuting to work or school or when traveling. I been learning Korean for a while and I recently purchased this book this is my first time buying a Korean learning book I think this book is pretty well made I been learning so much and it’s so easy to understand and I been learning so fast zero regrets with this book if you looking forward to purchase a Korean learning book this is the one!!!

This book is a game changer if you are serious about learning Korean, especially if you are self teaching or learning! I highly recommend it along with his YouTube videos (Song Won). You can use the book with the videos or by its self.

I have always had a fascination with eastern culture, explecialy South Korea and Japan. Growing up as a kid watching the old kungfu movies always inspired me! Language has never been my strength although I learned Spanish in school; because we had to. I just recently met a really friendly foreign exchange student. When I mentioned to her my interest in Korean. She recommended this book to help me learn the language by my self. She told me that this is a very popular book that the foreigners use in her country. I am just amazed at how easy it was to learn the vocabulary, grammar, and how easy it was to read and count in Korean! Explecialy for the price of the book, I can not believe I am learning a new language such as Korean so fast and on my own! Now I can talk a little with my freind and is not so intimidating. I really hope that there could be a book like this for Japanese. Pretty soon I will be planning a trip out there with my freind when she goes home and I will get to test my new skills for sure. I could not leave a long enough comment to show how much this book has improved my life! I highly recommend getting this book if you want to learn Korean at easy and fast pass with no schools or expensive programs like Rosetta Stone. I should leave another comment when I get back from my trip lol

Really like how the author has a lot of supplemental material online to help with pronunciation and flow of the sentences.

I had been studying Korean for approximately 10 months and found that I had difficulty forming proper sentences. Within a week of purchasing Song Won’s book I can now confidently read, write, speak, and understand basic Korean sentences that I can easily expand upon as my vocabulary grows. Thank you!

Korean grammar for speaking, it was my best book purchase to study korean, i think all korean students should buy korean grammar for speaking 1 and 2 and still have the lesson videos on YouTube with the book's author,

I am finding the book an excellent resource to learn Korean. The book has been very well written;. Easy to follow with plenty of examples and homework to test your knowledge.Accompanying the book you can find the Chapters on U-Tube to explain in more detail.Great value. Highly recommend for people who are new to the Korean language or who need further explanations.
