Another Excellent Read by Cathy Glass
Cathy Glass is one of my absolute all-time favorite authors. I have every one of her books, & have read most of them twice. In this book, I actually figured out what was going on almost right away- why the children were always getting sick, even at Cathy’s house, and I picked up on the subtle clues, things that were just casually mentioned. I was very surprised that Cathy wasn’t immediately aware of what was really going on, as it was the very first thing I thought of. This was an excellent book, with a very disturbing story. The way Aneta and Filip treated Cathy at the very end was disgusting, and it made me question whether or not everything else they claimed was actually true, or, if their lawyer was just that good. Especially Filip, who I actually believed was genuinely a decent person, but not after what happened at the end. I wonder if he was just as cold and calculating and manipulative all along.

Predictable, but good
This was a wonderful book, as Cathy’s always are. The only thing that was annoying is I knew very early on, even from the synopsis, what was likely going on. So I wanted to shout at the characters for about half of the book to recognize the issue. I feel like Cathy was more genuine in this book than in others’. I have sometimes felt in other books that she came across as perfect. This book really shows the good and the bad of fostering.

Wonderful book from a great writer
This book, as well as all the other books that Cathy Glass has written, is wonderful. This one was especially interesting. It was a good thing that something happened to Kit so that they went into care, or they may never have found out about the mother. Not sure the father was innocent either. I thought he was a good person until the end. So hard for me to forgive them for not letting Cathy say good by. You will be impressed by this book. As usual, I can't really find the words to describe how great this book is. Just read it and you will be drawn to all of Cathy's books.

Great read
I also am an avid CG reader. I enjoyed this latest book and hope for more. The plot line is indeed disturbing but not unheard of. I won't write specifics as they would be spoilers but I was a little leery about the kids going back home. I thought maybe they would go just to the father. I like the details of Cathy's books although some are repetitious from other memoirs but they create a full picture. What I did not like about the book was that the solution to the mysterious illnesses was obvious- I know it had to be drawn out to tell the full story but I felt like' get on with it, we know what is happening.' Personally I would not give opened food or drink to children in my care even if it came from the parents. Sad how Cathy could not even say goodbye to the kids Shows the parents are not good people- they knew all Cathy had done for their children even if they wanted to end the horrible episode of the foster care days and reasons for it....I wonder if there will be a wedding in a book to come since Kirsty is mentioned quite a bit!

Cathy Glass has a loving heart.
I have read almost all of Cathy Glass's books and when I finish each one,I say, “that was the best one”. She has an amazing way of making you feel you are right there, in her house, observing, firsthand everything that is going on. Some stories are very sad, having to read what some children have gone through, but the love and care and nurturing that Cathy gives, makes me feel reassured that they have been taken care of and loved during this very difficult time in their life. Innocent was a fantastic read. Can’t wait to start another. Cathy, I don’t know how you do what you do, but I thank you for doing it.

Yet to read....
I just happen to notice this new book of Cathy's on Amazon and was totally thrilled. I have every book of hers and read most of them more than once. I love the feeling her books give me when reading them, even though some material is sad to read, the way Cathy handles every situation always leaves me with a feeling of hope and trust. Good to know there are people like Cathy in this world. I admire all she does...and one thing that amazes me the most is how she never gives up, even when most people would. My book is on its way to me and I am so excited about it. Thank you Cathy!!

Interesting
Very interesting story. At times the level of detail was frustrating and there seemed to be no apparent reason why things were mentioned.I cannot believe how rude these parents were to the foster carer, given how the parents treated those poor children. Both were to blame not just the one with the mental illness.I hope the kids are ok. The ending left a bad taste in my mouth, no fault of the author but because of the way the parents treated her.

Disappointing
I have read almost all of Cathy Glass’s books, but this one left me disappointed and dissatisfied.I’ve long suspected that she changes details in order to hide the true identity of the children in her books, but it falls flat in this book. After 25 years of seeing the worst kinds of horrors children have been subjected to, and she was convinced that this was a case of accidental food poisoning? Either these children came to her early in her career, before she had seen much of what she’s written about in her books—- or she was daft enough to assume that her readers wouldn’t see through her pitiful plot to the cause of these children being so ill.I normally like her books and devour them, but this one I had to force myself to finish just in case there was an actual plot twist in store.

Incredable!
Always sad when I have read one of your books Cathy - I then have to wait for you to write another one!Really lovely children fostered in this book and a brilliant read. Lovely how you and the family give these two a lovely home life. Not much interaction to start, but they soon begin to bloom under Cathy's care.Poor little things though keep being sick. Total mystery!I actually do not feel that the end was the best outcome at all! Shocking I think! You must read yet another fabulously written book by Cathy who is an amazing Foster Carer.

Cathy Glass Does It Again
Another brilliant, moving read from Cathy.Spoiler Alert...*********What poor Molly & Kit went through, at the hands of their mother was appalling. And as for the judge, the final decision was a travesty. The way Cathy was treated by Aneta and Filip was disgusting, cruel, disrespectful and callous. I have read every book Cathy has written and THIS is the one that has made me the most angry. Aneta treated her own children and Cathy so cruelly. Trying to blame Cathy for making the children ill, knowing full well she was poisoning them, was calculated and downright evil. It's shockingly sad, and scary to think those poor children are allowed back in the parents "care" after Aneta deliberately harmed them to make them sick, for attention - granted, she did have FDIA but it doesn't change the fact she could have killed them, and she could have ruined Cathy's life too. Selfish, horrid woman.I just hope, for Molly and Kits' sake, that judge made the decision based on the children's best interests and not the parents wants. And I hope Molly and Kit don't suffer at her hands ever again and have no lasting trauma of what they went through, and remember their time with Cathy as a happy time.

Great read-one of her best.
I've read quite a few of this author's fostering memoirs now-this was one of her best.I pre-ordered this-but didn't read it as soon as it came out. I kept seeing comments in groups where people were wanting to discuss the happenings-and I avoided looking at them as I didn't want to spoil it for when I read it. I saved this book for the Christmas and New Year holiday-when I would be able to just sit and read and read, and be able to really get my teeth into it. I'm so glad I did. It was fantastic, intriguing, and shocking. One of her best books in a while, I think, and highly recommend it.Two young children are removed from their parents' care, and come to stay with Cathy and her family. The case is very intriguing. I thought I had guessed what might be going on-due to reading a few medical and true crime memoirs, and seeing some true crime documentaries on the TV-but I really wasn't sure, and it kept me guessing, and totally engrossed. I read it in just a couple of days.Cathy Glass usually puts updates on her site so I resisted peeking there until I'd finished the book. Some people who'd read the book had said things about the ending. I suppose, as it's real life-we don't always get the ideal ending, everything rosy etc. I thought I'd see when I got to that bit. That's what made it totally unpredictable and involving. I did look on the author's website afterwards, and she has put a bit of update information, so I think it's a must to take a look there to complete the reading experience.A great read.

Innocent
Omg another great but sad book, so shocking that any mother can do that to her children, straightaway you get the feeling the father is no way involved as by the sound of things hes never been around in any way at all, this book had such a different ending to what I expected and in some ways I felt dissapointed. I feel like the mother is still suffering with issues and will continue to do so but time will tell. So sad for the children and so young not to understand as yet. The mothers attitude at the end of the book speaks volumes and even when contact was first resumed to me signs was there that she still has problems obviously as she was say, make sure they have there hats n gloves on, make sure they are fastened up properly in the car ect. I love to read the cathy glass books though many have a heart breaking story I love to read the happy ending wether the children return home or settled in with there new forever family its lovely to know they are going to be loved looked after and happy. This is first book I've read where I'm sad at the outcome and worry for those children, and I believe they would of been much happier staying with you and your loving family, xxx

Emotional
I loved the dedication Cathy showed to finding just what was causing the children's problem. I hated the fact Cathy never got to say goodbye but reading this book bought tears to my eyes and it's another must read. Having dealt with a parent with the same condition it opens your eyes to just what people are capable of when mental health takes over. Well done Cathy you saved these children's lives.
