MAXXHAUL50241 Adjustable Steel Pick Up Truck Ladder Utility Racks-Pair, Black

The rack was perfect for a trailer build to carry kayaks and cargo. I used a stripped camper trailer frame with a self installed wood floor. In order to use the rack i had to adjust as this rack (and most others) have a max width of 71 inches. I bolted some 2x8s to the metal frame of the trailer and then bolted the rack mounts through the 2x8 and the trailer floor. The integrity of the rack was not compromised and the racks hold both boats as well as large cargo beneath the rack, multiple interstate speed trips with rack loaded and no issues. Racks were easy to install without directions, i did not use the J hooks but appear to be a good size and sturdy of i did need to use them.

I put these on an old 5x8 trailer with 1" "L" shaped metal framing around it. This rack was probably over-kill, but I wanted a sturdy rack for loading 2 kayaks (10 and 14') and traveling at interstate speeds. Once installed, they absolutely have met those objectives. The install was not fun because of the need to adapt to the frame. The J-hooks were not enough because of the flex of the trailer frame, so holes had to be drilled for additional bolts. The difference between the rack pre-drilled holes and the 1" trailer frame made for a close fit, but it worked and greatly added to the rack stability. I am please with the outcome, and have one of the "studly-est" ratty trailers on the road!

Overall good quality. Needed something that would extend above my cab and it does. It’s solid and easy to assemble however it will slide a little along the bed rail if enough pressure is applied if you don’t drill holes to bolt it in

Extremely easy to install!!! Installed by myself in 20 minutes without needing the instructions and uninstalled in 10! Great product if you need a rack for temporary or permanent use. I've never been a fan of ladder racks on my pickup trucks especially when I have to drill the bedrail. This 100% eliminates that and is sturdy enough for permanent use.

Everything was there and easy to put together. I wish the set screws were a standard size that I can replace with bolts and lock washers. I’ve had two of the set screws come out from vibration. Not good. Keep an eye on them.

Bought this to use for my kayak when pulling my trailer. Normally I just drop the tailgate and put it in the bed. I was very surprised with how solid it is. I have a factory bed liner and had to trim about 1/2" off the mount plates for the j hooks so they would fit between the Christmas trees in the front. It is fairly heavy once assembled and a little awkward to install solo, Otherwise I have no complaints. Highly recommend and would buy again, although I should never have too since it's adjustable.

I ordered this to haul pipes, ladders stuff like that on my work truck. The racks are good and solid, everything was there. What don't like is the bolts stick up like 3" on the mounting brakets. plan on trimming them. Also they came with no instructions. Pretty simple to figure out, but a quick look would be helpful. Would I buy this again? Absolutely. Took about 20 minutes to install on 04 silverado. Feels solid, looks decent and it's a good price.
