A GLORIOUS ADVENTURE!
This has to be by far one of the finest Christian fiction books about Ruth and Boaz that I have ever read and I will also go so far as to say that it is probably the finest book in this genre ever written, in my opinion. It is well researched and the characters are very well developed and fleshed out in every way. All the characters jumped out filling you with joy and inspired ones spirit to be revive in love and faith for the future. Tessa's choices of Scripture references prior to each chapter are a blessing as well.I wept and laughed and totally spent myself for three glorious days as I read through this marvelously written book. I feel in love with Boaz. I want Ruth to be my best friend and I want Naomi as my mother. I even began to adore Dinah who at first was horrid but in the end was transformed into a lovely flower and brought tears to my eyes again and again as all did at one time or another. There is nothing not to love about this story. It could have happened just like it states. The reader is drawn in and will share every joy and sorrow first hand. This is for the meek in heart who struggles with questions about God's plan for our lives. There are no pat, easy answers here but there are truths that will help to give one more faith to trust God in His plan for us.Tessa is a master writer and a delight to read. I plan to read all her books. She is a converted believer from Iran. That is such an especially pleasant fact to know plus not only is she a gorgeous woman physically but she is a dear, sweet spirit-filled woman and one whom I am proud to call my sister in the Lord. My only complaint is that it ended but I will re-read this book again and again for its joys with such rich, timeless truths to uncover. It will last when most other books fade from the shelves. I went to the Bible to read the book of RUth and found it even better after reading Tessa's book.Thank you Tessa and friends for your labor of love on this one. It was worth the effort and is a 5* book from beginning to end. Please give us more of these books and we will continue to give you the reviews that you deserve.Bravo Tessa et al!

Beautifully written
This is a beautifully written fictionalized Christian version of the story of Ruth and Boaz. Though, like Salmon and Rahab, there is little mentioned about Boaz, TA has given you a very good story version as what could have happened during that time period after their meeting. She has added to, not changed, any of the biblical story. Despite the epilogue, I personally felt wasn't necessary, I still loved this story. Be sure to read the authors notes in the back of the book for some clarifications. If you haven’t already read The Pearl in the Sand, I suggest you read it first. It's about Salmon and Rahab.

Loved it
Great flushed out retelling of the beloved story of Ruth. It adds a little extra history before the Biblical account, and ends with the lineage to Jesus. It also ties in to David and Solomon at the end. Beautifully done.

New depth to an old story!
I am a HUGE fan of Tessa Afshar's - I preordered this book the day I heard about it (many long months ago). And I was not disappointed! The story of Ruth is one I've heard told, and retold, and retold by everyone from pastors to secular authors. And, not surprisingly, this was my very favorite version. The characters were all richly drawn and well-developed, not only the main ones we all know like Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz (although how the author was able to bring so much depth to characters we think we know so well was truly astonishing), but even the secondary characters who helped fill in the story were marvelously done. The author also managed to make a plot that, again, we all think we know so well, new and engaging.Possibly the thing I admire most about Ms. Afshar's writing is her ability to seamlessly weave spiritual truths into her story, and this book is no different. I've read several authors who do indeed put valuable lessons in their books, but none manage to do it so flawlessly and beautifully. I never feel preached at, or like she has to maneuver the dialogue in order to fit some Scripture verse or life-changing moment for the characters, or like it's the same "revelations" I've read in most other Christian fiction. It all flows so well, and often I've found those things she shares utterly "new" (for me at least!), profound, and life-changing. Really. This is one of the only fiction books that I not only thoroughly enjoyed reading but feel like I've truly gained something from. I put it down and wanted to follow Jesus more closely. There was even a moment in the book where I had to stop reading because I just wanted to spend time with the Lord. I don't think that's ever happened to me before! Fiction that is entertaining and encouraging - you cannot ask for a better read than this!

Best story of Ruth so far
It's the biblical Story of Ruth. And as the author Claims - you should read the original. This one, though, is worth reading afterwards. The author stays Close to the original Story - so no flinching or dissapointment there. And she fills out the empty places wonderfully. It's a spiritually encouraging book!
