Cleat Covers for SPD

For my modest purpose these work excellently. All I need is to protect my home's stone entryway and kitchen floor from even my recessed cleats. I'm not interested in walkabouts with these covers which probably would, as others report, trash them fairly quickly. I keep these on my shoes and when leaving to ride stand on the mat by the front door and remove them. Reverse the procedure when I enter the house after the ride.

These are acceptable, but not great. I use them for SM-SH56 cleats on mountain bike shoes. I park my bike, walk two blocks in my cleats to shower, then two blocks to my office, also in my cleats . I use the covers while walking. As other have reported, they can fall off if you are not careful how you walk in them (in my experience, they can slip off while walking on carpeting if you twist your foot). So, I am conscious of them when I walk, and sometimes they slip off. They also wear out rather quickly, so I carry a spare set. They work better than other solutions I have tried. I am not thrilled with them but have not found anything better yet.

Could not find this at my LBS, so I was pleased to find this on Amazon. Read the reviews. Purchased them because I have to carry my bike two flights of stairs. Oh, and the bathroom breaks on my long rides!The covers fit the cleats and it works great on any surface. The product met my expectations.

These are very good in concept but if you don't walk "flawlessly" they fall off FAST! Both fell off at different spots within the first 200 feet of use. I didn't notice because I was on a carpeted store entryway. The traction peels them right off. You cannot drag your feet "at all" when walking. I'm thinking about tying them, using the eyelet with fishing line, to some part of the shoe, that way if they fall off again I don't have to run all over the place looking to see where they fell off at.

They do the job and do it well for my expectations and needs. I am however using these with a pair of Pi MTB shoes and the cleat (standard shimano spd) is fully recessed into the sole of the shoe. These covers protect the cleats and filled in the hole from the piece that had to be removed quite nicely.It would be nice if OEM's made these things for the shoes they sell as they'd fit perfectly and would possibly be made of better materials, but these exustars do quite nicely and they aren't terribly expensive.I believe that some complaining about the covers falling off, might have protruding cleats. I can see how these covers might not work as well in that instance, but with my shoes they worked perfectly at keeping the gravel and grit out of my cleats and getting rid of that annoying crunch when you walk on gravel, sandy, pebbly asphalt and concrete. That said I would not go for a long hike in the woods and not expect to lose one. I would consider these are best for street walking, parking garages, office buildings, malls, short trails, walking paths and the like.You can see the cleats installed in the included photo. Otherwise they look exactly as depicted in the stock photo, with exception to the fact that they look better in person and are made of a better material than impresssed by the stock photo. They are fairly substantial and plenty flexible to stay on your shoe. Even though they could be better in terms of fit, material etc, they are fantastic at solving the basic problem. Even though they seem to be the only manufacturer for an SPD cleat cover, I still like them and find them useful. I would just encourage the manufacturer to make them even better.

These are exactly what I needed for my indoor training bike rides. I usually ride for a long time indoors when I can't get outside and I sometimes have to get off the bike. These are easy to slip on and walk around and I don't have to worry about scratching my floors with my cleats. I think these would work well for outdoors too, if the terrain your walking on it's too rough. (I have look cleats on my outdoor bike, so these wouldn't work on those.)

These fit and worked okay but didn't last long. One was lost because it fell off at a rest break during an organized ride, the other one already has holes worn all the way through it after only about a dozen uses. Won't buy again.

Slide right on, stay snug and allow safer walking (short distance).
