Winegard RVW-395 Sensar IV White DTV/HD TV Antenna

Ordered the black version. Installation on the RV was easy and it works perfect. However, the entire unit is not black. Only the center is black but the wings and the Wingman portion are unpainted brushed aluminum

Easy install. Works like a charm

It was a fairly easy task to replace the old one which may not have been installed at the time this RV was new as I am not the original owner. It seems to not work at one location where I could not get a signal where the old one worked but other factors could explain that. It's working everywhere else I've used it.

I bought the Winegard Sensor IV to replace the original Sensor antenna that was on my 2004 Winnebago. The antenna still worked well and there was no problems other than it was sun-baked faded white and rather weathered looking. I wanted the new Sensar IV in BLACK as pictured in the description along with the customer review supplied image and what's also shown on the Winegard.com website. It is much cheaper using Amazon Prime as opposed to buying it directly from Winegard, so I placed the order with Amazon.When I got the box and opened it, I saw that it was NOT black. The center was black but the wings and the Wingman portion were not black as pictured. The bat wings or "elements" were unpainted brushed aluminum. The antenna worked fine but I was replacing my original antenna purely for cosmetic reasons. I have replaced all the vent covers along with the refrigerator vent cover on the roof with black or clear smoked covers and I wanted an all BLACK Sensar IV AS PICTURED, but that's not what I got. I note that in the product details if you click on "More Product Details" then click on "exterior" it does say that it might come with unpainted elements which are the wings.NOTE to Amazon customers: Winegard dropped the ball. After repeated conversations with Winegard and FINALLY talking to someone who knew what was going on, the person informed me that Winegard production DOES NOT paint the elements any longer as pictured and they failed to give that information to IT for updated pictures and internet product sales or their own customer service team or provide that information to their venders and sellers.You WILL NOT GET ONE COMPLETELY BLACK AS PICTURED any longer.UPDATED: I painted it myself. Looks nice this way as opposed to the stainless look, also pictured.

I live in a rural area about 35 miles from the local TV broadcast towers. My house is on a hill and it's two story with a second story porch on the same side as the TV broadcast antennas.I've been trying to "cut the cord" for the last couple years and have tried using several different indoor & outdoor antennas "rated" at 55 to 75 miles. This RV antenna was the ONLY antenna that provided reliable reception on all of my local channels.The only issue I have is that I can't find a residential mount for it. The RV mount that came with it is of no use for my installation, so I've mounted it directly on Mr porch railings. I recommend Winegard come up with some optional mounts for home users since this is a GREAT antenna as long as you use the amplifier that comes with it. I first tried using the Winegard amplifier with the signal strength readout I had been using with a different antenna, but it didn't work as well as the Winegard amplifier that came with the antenna without the signal strength meter.

I was forced to purchase this entire assembly when the original 20 year old antenna top plastic section broke. After speaking with Winegard, they did not sell just the antenna section that matched mine and suggested buying the entire assembly. Several of the new parts were quite different than what was existing but the plastic antenna that I needed was basically the same. The antenna cable needed to be replaced as well but the new one was shorter than the old one so the repair is sort of a kluge and I don't know how long it will last but it's working for now. It took many hours to get everything back together.

Installed this in my Class C motorhome today and what an amazing difference! We scanned the available stations and were delighted to find eighteen in our home area. This antenna actually exceeded our expectations.Quality of product: the mechanism is metal and plastic and has a good solid feel to it. The gears are plastic and worked very smoothly for raising and lowering the antenna, the connections and cables are excellent quality.Ease of installation: the antenna was attached to the base in less than a minute and, since this was an upgrade of an older Winegard antenna, it was easy to swap it out. The amplifier box was a straightforward installation. The only difficulties I encountered were running new cable and tapping into a 12v circuit for the amplifier, but I would have had that with any antenna.Although I have had this antenna on my rv for less than a day, I am very pleased with the smooth operation and ability to bring in distant signals. We use this with our Panasonic Viera 32inch HD TV and the previously splotchy signals are now solid and reliable. If you have an older Winegard and want to see a dramatic improvement in signal strength and quality, this is the one to buy. Don't waste your time on quick fixes.

works as good as the original one I took off, I like that it is black as it now matches the RV better. My old one stopped working, I dont know why, not much to them. Range is not great, I am thinking of getting a better one. It is perfect as a factory replacement.
