I did not use these pouches the way it was originally meant to be used. But was asked by the mfg to write a review for their product. So, read my review as an alternate use of these little pouches.I have a fruit garden with a couple fig trees, I never used these pouches before. I only purchased them to find out how well they'll work on my figs against being damaged or eaten by birds and small mammals. Birds and little mammals have a tendency to "taste test" fruits within their reach. If you wish for your fruits to ripen naturally on the trees, you'll never get to enjoy any of it. They will either be damaged before hand or partially eaten when its almost time to harvest. I've came across this product during my search for solution and decided to give them a try. These pouches are strong enough to protect against birds, and small mammals except from the determined ones. Daily, we still find some of these pouches chewed/pecked through with its contents wasted or mostly eaten. We understand nothing is 100% animal prove. Thus, this is an acceptable loss to us. At least now we are able to enjoy our fruits and share the uncovered ones with our animal neighbors.Bottom line: It is inexpensive and worked as we expected for small sized fruits. Larger fruits may require stronger mesh material against larger animals.
