Eduard1/48 Messerschmitt Bf 110 E # 8203

This is a Bf-110E kit that contains 7 sprue trees molded in light tan with 2 sprue tree of clear parts. Four different marking options and one set of stencils are provided, as well as photo-etched instrument panels and seat belts . As you would expect with an Eduard kit the amount of cockpit detail is off the charts. Those of you who have assembled Eduard kits before know the incredible detail is a direct result of your patience and dexterity in working with very small parts. The cockpit is separated into two sections. The pilot sits in the forward section while the aft section contains the radio equipment and rear gunner. The aft section contains a very detailed radio setup with several 20 mm ammo drums on the floor and the extra 7.92 mm clips under the rear-facing gun. Detail extends along the entire outside fuselage and wings with engrave panel lines. Eduard goes the extra mile for you by highlighting areas where parts will come into contact with one another in blue for each step. Dry-fitting parts is a must since this kit provides you with little room for error during assembly. It would probably be a good idea for you have a strategy for dealing with the extra small parts before you start building. I place a strip of blue painter's tape on the underside of the sprue with the small parts. The parts should be in contact with the tape before you start cutting so there's little chance for them to catapult off into a void. I also place any small parts removed from the sprue on a tape strip. All the pieces went together without the use of putty and the finished product looks amazing. Given the amount of time and effort needed to work with several small pieces I would recommend this kit for experienced builders. It's well worth the effort.

This is an excellent kit and builds into an impressive model - see photos. There are some issues with the fit of some parts and you will need to use some filler at the wing roots and particularly on the aft of the engine nacelles. It is a challenging build with some small and fiddly pieces such as the engine exhausts. However, if you are an experienced modeller, and like a challenge, this is a good choice. As this is a Profipack Edition you will find PE instrument panel and canopy paint masks included. Highly recommended.

In this scale and for the money you will not get a better model, really surprised at the detail and quality of the model along with the extras, masks for the cockpit canopy and the photo etch detail, brilliant!!
