There is no slot provided for the extended part off the orginal key

Both of the original housing were damaged and when I asked the dealership, they told me that they only provide a total key replacement. They didn't have housing replacements and that would in turn costs around 4k. I immediately replied "No thank you Boss😀, i rather buy the housing replacements online".Received it within a week and the installation was very easy . I am totally satisfied with the cover, not only did they provide the housing but all the internal parts as well including battery n chip housing, key (shaping to be done by a key master in your area) .Thank you.

I replaced my crumbling Sx4 key with this model. It was extremely easy to install. I moved the Nippon circuit from existing to the new one. After that , i thought i could relace existing key blade with the new key blade. But that wasnt the case. The blades come with the molded plastic and there is no way it can be removed. That is the only con of this product.Once done, i took the key to the keymaker shop in Marthahalli (Ali keymakers ) who milled the original key contours into the new one in a matter of minutes ( 5 mins to be precise ).There is a sensor that has to be transferred from the old Plastic housing to the new one. It took some time to open up the plastic housing,find , remove the sensor carefully and transfer to the new key. I was charged a flat rate of Rs 650 for this. I could not do much as i needed they key and i had lost the duplicate key as wellThe key is perfect for my car. I see no issues whatsoever.

Remote worked perfectly after transferring the circuit and battery from old broken key to this replacement key. One should remember to move ignition sensor as well from old key to new one. If not done, car won't start. Got the blade cut by visiting a locksmith. Took multiple visits to get the key blade cut correctly.On the negative side, length of blade is marginally smaller than original key's blade (1-2 mm may be). Because of this, I've to push the key harder inside to unlock steering and turn ignition on/off. Same with opening door (just for testing, not required if using remote). Have to keep the blade slightly outside to lock or unlock the door.Would have been better if blade length was exactly same or may be 1-2 mm longer than original key so that locksmith could have adjusted it correctly.

But pricey though. While after getting milled it to match your car key at local shop, make sure to insert the sensor from older key. Original car key contains very tiny sensor or nfc device in it. Otherwise car won't start, though one can open and close the doors.Can get at cheraper price at local shops, if one has time to visit local shops.

I am writing this review after couple of week of usage of my car key. As mine upper case and inner case were broken so i ordered it from Amazon and completely replaced inner case whereas for outer case i have changed upper one where "S" is mentioned and mine key is like new and ready to use in order to completely replace your key you need to go to locksmith to get the blade cut in shape as original one and then tou can start using it. Just to add mine car is 2013 Maruti Swift.
