Simple and accurate
I used this to monitor the performance of my reverse osmosis water supply, so that I can know when filter change or general service is needed. It works well with high level of accuracy. The results are comparable with what the professional serviceman obtained when he came to service the unit few days ago.

A necessary device for testing your drinking water.
I bought this TDS Tester for testing my new refrigerator water filter. I could not trust what the advertisement on the filter said, and was I surprised after using this TDS Tester to test the newly installed refrigerator water filter. As you can see the water was not safe for daily consumption. I also used the TDS tester to test the sink water and bottled water. This TDS Tester is very accurate doing its job, the bottled water was under 50ppm (drinkable) and sink water was above 400+ (not safe for daily consumption). I recommend buying a TDS Tester if you want to know if your water is safe to drink.

Good enough for the price.
Will give you basic idea about your water quality. Measures not very consistent. Other then that great product for the price.

Easy to useconfident
This meter tests well against my more expensive PPM meter. I use it as a back up, but I would feel fine using it as my go too, I find that these types of meters(PPM/PH) at this price will be accurate, but with heavy use they tend to be disposable. Like a lighter, they do the job, until the don't. You can get the job done with these and feel confident with it's reading.

Good to know the quality of our water
I used the TDS meter to measure the quality of our RO water, our tap water and some locally purchased bottled gallon of water. It turns out the RO water was substantially superior than either of the two other samples. Interestingly enough, the tap water and the bottled water were very similar in their ppm for dissolved solids 240 for tap water and 212 for bottled, while the RO was 11 ppm.

Make sure that the temperature of the water is low while testing
Effect of temperature on TDS:As water temperature increases, the conductivity of water also increases; where TDS in water is directly related to conductivity. ... Temperature influences conductivity by increasing ions mobility and additionally the dissolvability of many salts and minerals. (copied from Google)I checked several different samples of water and the meter appears accurate. Just make sure that all samples are the same temperature otherwise the same water source with different temperatures will come back with different readings. Hope that helps first time users.
