I have never completed a review before and I bought these several years ago, but today I felt the need to write a review as my french bulldog fell out of our car window on the FREEWAY and I was driving at least 60mph. He was hanging on this seatbelt completely outside of the car with his harness (thankfully not a collar) and I managed to pull him back in whilst driving - complete weight (30lbs) hanging on this seat belt and he survived. I am forever grateful for this product. Highly recommend. I feel very lucky and thankful I had this product and for many times I felt there was no need to use it and I am glad I did. Thank you so much for a great product.

I really wanted to like this. It is exactly what I was looking for. However... The clip broke after 2 days. Fortunately, it broke when we were parked. My dog tried (succesfully) to jump out of the car. Thank God we were parked and the door was open. He jumped, and it gave way VERY EASILY. It broke WAY TOO easily in my opinion. If he would have tried that with the window open and that car moving, I can't even imagine what would have happened. If you care about your dog, please do not buy this. I am not normally "that dog owner" who overreacts to products, but this would have been horrible if it would have broken under different circumstances.

I first bought the "Good Pet Stuff Traveling Dog Seat" and it came with a strap I didn't quite understand to latch my Yorkie comfortably. I bought this strap and it works perfectly with my new dog seat. I feel a lot more safe if I have an accident or have to brake suddenly he is safe with it attached to his harness.

I am extremely happy with this product, because as a German Shepherd owner, I needed something that didn't make my girl squirm around in the back seat as she does with the kind of clip-on belts that attach to the bottom seat belt clip. She is a giant and would hate to sit on that and oftentimes would un-clip it with her giant paws. Not fun having a free roaming dog in your back seat and having to quickly find parking to rectify that situation. When I saw these restraints that hook up to the head rest, it was a no-brainer! Since putting my dog into one of those, what a difference. No more squirminess and whining and much easier to un-clip when ready to get out of the car. It makes road trips so much simpler and easier with one of these and the price is very affordable. FYI, I clip it to her harness on the back, never the collar. That's just common sense.

The product was great until now, a month later! . The strap wore down and my 6 month old pup got loose In my minivan, While I was driving ! Good thing the light turned red and I had my leash with me. It could of ended very badly. I’m highly disappointed In this product. Driving with an unsecured dog is not safe ! The leash must be very sturdy. I do not recommend this product.

Edit: we have had this for 4 months and our dog just broke one. She pulled and the plastic part on one side of the clip snapped. I wouldn’t recommend this for a large dog or any dog that will pull on it a lot.A couple weeks ago my dog jumped out of the window while we were driving 30. I never thought in a million years that it would happen to me, and it’s not like her window was all the way down. Luckily, she suffered a few scrapes, raw paws, and a small patch of road rash the size of a quarter on her thigh. It could have ended up with her being ran over by my car, another car, or being hurt so bad that she had to be put down but thankfully she was okay. I got online looking and found that doggy seatbelts were a thing.Personally, I didn’t want one that latches into the seatbelt because I read many reviews about them coming undone or the animal steps on it and unlatches themselves and I didn’t want to take that chance.This product is perfect for those whose seat belts aren’t compatible with that product or those that just want something different.We use this on my 68 pound dog and she doesn’t mind it. We have one for each car and put it on the middle headrest that way she can go to either window, plus the middle headrest in our cars does not have the metal rods on them. I didn’t want the plastic clip at the top rubbing against metal just in case. It seems pretty sturdy to me because she has pulled a couple times when she’s trying to sniff the person at the drive thru window or when we are handed food but she learns she can only go so far and then she sits. We adjusted ours almost to the smallest part because she’s large and we wanted it short enough she can stand up and sniff the window but if she tried to jump she can’t go anywhere, plus the window is usually only rolled halfway or if no ones watching her it’s rolled up to the top. We love it and the price is awesome considering it comes with two. My only fear is that the adjustable strap that slides up and down may eventually not hold-but so far it’s been sturdy.I would not recommend this as something you use in case of an auto accident or anything like that because that’s not what they are meant for. They are meant to keep your dog within a certain distance in the car.

I have a clever dauschund that can never stay still in the car. I bout these car straps to keep him in the back seat whenever we drive somewhere. The leash itself is studdy fabric and the clip is metal. I attach it to his harness and loosen the strap a little so he can window surf and our driving time has improved a lot. Would definitely recommend, easy installation, gave me peace of mind.

Very useful. Works better for my dog because the attachment to the car is up high. Less chance to tangle up in it. Keeps him in place but gives him mor freedom at the same time. I just leave the harness I purchased separately attached to it so I have an easy on and off system for keeping my dog secure in the car.

This product is very easy to use and install around your car's head restraint. When not in use it can be clipped to itself which means it is out of the way but easy to find when needed. I wish I'd discovered these years ago as I find them far more convenient than the conventional ones. It can also be used as an emergency leash. Always attach to a dog's harness and not their collar. I allow enough length so that my dogs can lie down. I have two 12 kg spoodles. Having your dogs secured means they can't jump out of the car when you open the car door and you have time to put their leash on.

Its a good addition to the car, keeps my puppy from jumping around and being a potential distraction. I use it with the rabbitgoo harness and it looks great together. It will provide some support to him from flying out if I ever get into a collision. My dog was not bothered by it. Makes me feel more comfortable taking him on road trips. The extension can be adjusted to your vehicle and the size of the pup, giving the pup more movement if you wish. This is the lowest position, I had it in the photo and it's enough so that he can lie down or stand if he wishes to look out the window. I just hope the clip is strong enough to hold him in place if we get into a collision in full speed.

Bought it for the new puppy so I can make sure she doesn't jump around in the front seat while I get her used to vehicles. It keeps her from jumping out, or into my lap, or from jumping into the floor. But, since it's up high, latched around the headrest, she can kind of get between the two front seats and get into the back seat if she wants. So ALMOST keeps her confined to her seat.

I own a dog walking company in Vancouver BC Canada. I ordered 4 and they’ve been a blessing. Durable. Sturdy. Functional. I bought the bungee type which allows for some flexibility but still contains the dogs within the back trunk area, so they can’t fall or jump out when I open the back door. Super affordable too!

I love it. I tried today and works perfectly. It is very secure . Really amazing with the seat belt . I totally recomend.
