Nice product, excellent value
This pump was purchased to replace the OEM on a 1991 Chevy C3500.I freaked when I saw the 1/2 NPT port (for the heater) on top, which the original didn't have.I bought a plug for it, installed it in the pump, then found they had supplied one with the pump.Besides a very friendly price, this arrived quickly.

Good water pump
The package was so damage that the gaskets that come with the pump was not usable the pump was good. lucky I had extra gaskets.or it would of cost me more.

You can't go wrong with ordering a part from gates. There parts are always a good quality parts.
It's some what easy to install. It's just bites draining the antifreeze and trying not to make a big mess all over your garage floor. The biggest thing making shore you got all of the old gaskets cleaned off of the motor. Because you definitely don't want to see a leak after you put everything back together and you start putting the antifreeze back in it and you look down and you see antifreeze all over your clean garage floor.

Gates has always been a respected industry brand name, & what isn't made in China these days ? The bearing & shaft assembly is smooth & snug when you spin it by hand, just like you'd expect. The casting & machining are professional and smooth. Look, listen, feel & touch says.. Hmm nice. And at a great price.

Gaskets ruined
Pump was sitting on top of gaskets and now they’re ripped, otherwise great water pump

Great water pump and no leaks on ‘89 Chevy 1500 350
Great water pump. I gave it a few coats of black paint because it’s cast iron and will create surface rust immediately. Perfect fit on 1989 Chevy 1500 with the 350 TBI. Tip: dab some rtv gasket maker around the mating surface to keep the gaskets in place when first lining up the pump.
