MXLWS-001 Tall Basket Foam Microphone Windscreen

This was the least expensive way to get a windscreen for my MXL V67G condenser mic, which is required of condenser mics when used for vocals to prevent moisture from damaging the mic. I thought is was a little expensive for a piece of foam but was more bummed when I got the shipping bill of $15. (I had foolishly used 1-click to purchase - never again!) There is no way this light weight item should have cost that much to ship. It fits easily over the mic, feels a little loose, but that's better than too snug. It totally hides the great looks of my mic. All that said, it does the job and the foam seems to be a good density to hold up for awhile.

...this, as with all windscreens, are helpful to protect mic and ease siblilence. In the case of the MXL WS-001, both are reduced noticeably and help to reduce room noise.

This works great for my AT2020 and AT2035I prefer it to the circular pop filters. Recommend it to anyone looking for an easy pop filter that doesn't cover your face too much

I bought this "MXL WS-001 Foam Windscreen" for use with my  MXL Studio1-USB USB Desktop Recording Kit . I use a  Blue Microphones Snowball USB Microphone (White)  in my office, but it is too big to take along on remote jobs. The Studio1 mic is portable and comes in a nice hardcase for easy transporting but lacks a windscreen. This windscreen fits snugly and covers over half the microphone. It can also be flattened and stored in my MXL Studio1 hardcase, which makes it easy to always bring along.The filter does attenuate the sharp "P", "S", and "T" vocal sounds as expected. Since this only used inside, I can't speak to the usefulness as a windscreen.Highly Recommended!CFH

As a voice over artist I often need to get close to the mic to capture subtle nuances in performances... of course being close naturally causes noise from plosives, especially "P" sounds. I was already using a small windscreen designed for handheld dynamic mics like the Shure SM58 AND a pop filter screen at the same time, but was still having issues. I ended up putting this OVER my existing small windscreen and continue to use the pop filter, keeping the pop filter close to my mouth, and it works like a dream! Better than anything I have ever tried in the past. It really was the solution to my wind noise and plosive problem.

It fits very nicely on the AT2020 USB Mic though there is a little gap where the light can pass through but that's only a very minor problem since it's specially for the MXL mics. ____AT2020 USB+____Never buy stuff based upon people's comments!This does fit in a way on the AT2020 USB+.. but it's loose and not long enough!There is a gap at the bottom and also it too loose on the microphone..DON'T BUY THIS FOR THE AT2020 USB+!!!!

Nice quality foam. The only useful note I have to add to this review section is that this windscreen will fit the RODE Anniversary NT1 or NT1-A type models very nicely as well. I would venture a guess and say that if you have a studio microphone, this windscreen will probably fit it, and if it doesn't fit your purposes, you can always return it. This windscreen came in a very nice MXL cardboard box to protect it's shape. I'll be buying a couple more of these for my other studio microphones.

This fits a Neuman TLM 103 nicely. Not quite as thick as the real thing, but also half the price. These products only last for a certain number of years and then begin to break down. Not because of UV, but from breath moisture and spit. Go for the cheaper one - this one. Does a fine job, and in three years, I’ll get another.

Don't get a microphone pop filter if your stand isn't really good. The added weight seems to degrade the stand even faster. This windscreen is light, doesn't smell (unlike all the other pop filters in this price range). It does its job perfectly.

I bought this to replace my existing pop filter because I found it to get in the way of arm movements. As a live-streamer, I felt that my pop filter not only took up a lot of arm space above my keyboard, but it also obstructed my monitor view slightly. I searched for an alternative and came across this product.I use an Audio-Technica AT2020 USB microphone. It didn't fit as snug as I had anticipated. It won't fall off if you suspend the microphone upside-down, as many condenser microphone owners do, but it's a loose fit. This product was not meant for the AT2020, however it was a decent option for a fair price. It did provide more room in comparison to a standard pop filter w/ adjustable arm, but at a noticeable loss of sound clarity.If you're looking for superior sound, a standard pop filter would be better. A foam windscreen has a slightly more muffled sound, but it does excel in decreasing ambient noise better than a standard pop filter.Overall a decent product, but as someone who insists on the best audio recordings I can afford, it didn't measure up. This review is simply based on this type of product and not the company which manufactures it. I haven't tried any other foam windscreens on the market but I don't ever plan to. I've gone back to using my original flexible mic pop filter, regardless of its bulky nature.

This is a good foam windscreen, but I have an MXL V63M mic, and the WS-001 is just a little loose, forcing me to tape my mic if I want to use it.

Fits my Audio technica 2035 like a glove ! Dont buy the one made by Audio tech i am sure it is great , BUT this one is 50% less and equally good.
