Great lab system
I'm sure this would be a great system for general PC usage, gaming, etc. I use mine as lab systems. The first one runs ESXi and the second one runs EVE-NG. Between the two I can setup any lab scenario I need for work. They run quiet, and are power efficient, so aren't huge heat sources in my office.Easy to get into the case to add the necessary NVME storage and RAM. The only real downside for my usage is the 64GB limitation on RAM. It'd be nice if I could expand that to higher levels, as it would make my usage even more flexible being able to virtualize more/larger systems if needed. For now, it's not a huge issue as I just power down the VMs I'm not using at the time.

Most awesome build kit ever. Don’t forget you need RAM and Memory
Awesome machine. Very easy to build and it’s a reliable machine. Order RAM and memory at the same time. The case is awesome. Comes with a mobile carting case too. It’s cool

Are there haters here? What's not to love about this?
I've got a mix of the NUC9i9QNX (i9) and NUC9QXVNX (Xeon) from Amazon, and a well know B&M/Online store in NY, and have had zero problems.I have not installed a GPU into the stock case, but have purchased a few of the CoolerMaster NC100 cases from Amazon and moved the compute module into these cases with a full size graphic card and still zero problems. One has become my daily gaming box. Waiting for Razer to finally release their Tomahawk case for the NUC. I have a few of these running 24/7 with nVidia GTX/AMD Radeon VII GPU's and eGPU's mining ETH, and those have not had any issues.Maybe I've just been lucky? I've snapped these up then they've been on sale for far cheaper than they are being sold for now and I have been quite happy with them.. They may great ESXi servers for home labs, and quite expandable. For those of you that want to make your own case (or run without a case), Digikey sells the backplane that's in the stock case.

There seems to be a critical quality issue.
I've had two of these. The first one failed within two weeks and I had my money refunded. Assuming this was an exception, I ordered another and it died today. It lasted through the Amazon refund/replacement period, but not by much. Intel has agreed to RMA it under their warranty, but I have to say I'm very disappointed. It's a shame really, this is a neat design and when the machine is working I really like it. Reliability is the most important feature a product can offer and this one doesn't. Intel is saying it may be up to four weeks before I get a replacement. As expensive as these are, I expected better. I'd have to say that I recommend you steer clear of this model. I've had decent luck with NUCs in general, but this model has been a mess.

Slightly outdated tech for a 2020 release with very bad front audio
Still testing this as much as I can but some of the review content on this page is correct. Two things I immediately noticed are:1) The fans used in this kit are subpar and very grainy in noise. There are gaming laptops quieter than this thing. One of my top fans has a gritty sound and the other is fine. Might have to swap them out later if I don't want to live with the sound of crickets in my room.2) The front audio jack doesn't appear to be properly shielded. Plug in your headphones to the front jack and prepare for hissing and other noise (presumably from the power supply?). This could probably have been fixed with a better front panel cable. As is, it's just shoddy quality. The back jack is fine but this is completely unacceptable.Performance is exactly what you would expect from a 2019 i9 laptop (in 2020) and it throttles like it should etc... Nothing unexpected and I knew what I was getting into.Nothing about this kit makes you excited to own or build into it. It works for my current situation but it lacks the pride of ownership you get when you build something with quality. At this price, intel could have definitely stepped things up but I guess they went for higher margins.

No cords came with boxes x2
the cord is an uncommon cord (ıˡı). It was a real hassle getting one. Could not get one from the distributer. I googled computer power cord and looked at hundreds of pictures. Searching specifically for this machine did not work. My machines are now working great, 1TB M2 and 32 GB ddr ram. Fast, silent, cool and amazingly small foot print although much bigger than my previous NUC. I highly recommend the machine. find another distributer.
