Best solution for adult with dementia
My elderly relative always had porridge for breakfast, but as dementia worsened she developed the habit of picking oats out of her mouth with every spoonful. It already took a long time to feed her but this habit made it impossible.Switching to Ready-Brek helped for a while but after a couple of months she started picking bits out of that too. I put it through a sieve and was amazed how much 'husk' was still in it, even though it was supposed to be smooth.I switched to Danalac oat cereal a couple of weeks ago and so far so good. Not a single bit has been picked out! Even though it looks more 'grainy' straight out of the box, it is much smoother when mixed. I love that it's organic too.It might appear more expensive than Ready Brek but it expands alot when mixed, so you use much less. If you buy the packs three at a time they are cheaper too, and (considering you use less) it's not that much more than Ready Brek - but well worth it to have an organic product that solves the problem.I'm so happy to have found this product!
