I was a bit disappointment with this item. I love the picture on the box (I already own her ceramic cat) so I thought this would be a nice little music box. I had imagined that the box would be more then just a thin paper box; it is just so thin and will get destroyed quickly. You can take the whole device out of the box, but then it is not very impressive (since it is simply the mechanism), so it really needs to stay in the box. I was going to give it to my 5 year old to try but I don't see how the paper would survive that.I gave it 3 starts (would really give 2.5 if possible), because it does sound beautiful.I don't have anything to compare it with, but nevertheless, I felt it was overpriced for what it is.Also, be careful, because I miss-read the description, and I didn't realize that to play the song I would have to continuously crank it (once you stop the song stops too). I didn't take stars off for that (just for the flimsy paper box).
