Great phone for older relatives
I bought this product for my elderly uncle who finds the idea of using smart phones. Still a bit too much. He was very happy with this as it is compact and easy for him to use as well as it has an adaptation for him because he wears hearing aids and he has found this has improved his calls and been able hear people on this phone better.

Ideal for a basic phone
I was worried when my 93 year old mother in law asked me to find her, her first mobile phone. How on earth would she cope with it, because she struggles to get to grips with her TV remote control! I needed have worried. This phone is very intuitive to set up - the manual is very clear - and there's even a set up wizard to do most of the work for you. I’ve assigned seven of her most used numbers to the phone keypad, so she only has to press one button for her routine and family calls. And, if she forgets which key to press, there’s also a *key which lists her numbers in the same order on the screen, and she can make the call from there. This is phone is small and compact, but ideal for elderly people to use (although it will probably be more convent if a family member or a friend, familiar with mobile phones, does the initial set up). There are no iPhone type gimmicks with this phone. The facilities it offers are quite basic, but if you only want a phone that just makes phone calls, and incorporates text messaging and a simple one click camera, you can't go wrong with this. The keypad is nice and large too.

If you want a straightforward phone for calls and texting only, this is it
I got this for my Mum as she needed something easy to use, easy to read and has buttons as she is unable to use a smartphone. This fits the bill nicely, the ringer is loud and the buttons are a good size and easy to press. The display is large and easy to read. If you have had experience with old Nokia phones like the 5110 or the 3210 then the menus work in the exact same way. The charger has a raised bump on one side so you can insert this by feel alone for people with poor eyesight, and the battery usually lasts a few days before it needs to be charged. Unless you have chatty friends who like to be on the phone for 90 minutes at a time, but this phone can handle that quite well. Two things to be aware of. One, there appears to be a bug with the software which saves some data onto the SIM card, even when you tell it not to, and doesn't always clear this out. This results in the phone giving "SIM card full" errors and causes problems sending and receiving text messages. You can clear this by selecting the option to delete all text messages... However, in my Mum's case, and likely in many others too, she has messages stored on the phone from people who have passed away and she can't bring herself to delete them. The only way I have found to clear this error without losing the messages is to remove the SIM card, put it into a smartphone and select the option to delete all texts on the SIM (this won't affect messages stored on the phone). This fixes it temporarily but the problem will keep occurring, so be prepared for monthly visits to the phone owner if they are in the same situation to sort this out if they are unable to do this themselves.Secondly, and this is a minor thing, the phone isn't capable of displaying emojis, you will just get blank squares on receipt. In this day and age this really shouldn't even be an issue, but there you go. You will have to use old school emoticons. :o) <3All in all though, a good, solid and otherwise reliable phone if all you need to do is call and text.

Great Doro, Great Colour, Nice extra screen
So where to begin ....Its my mum and dads (80) favourite Mobile. having had Doro mobiles now for around 10 years this was a no brainer upgrade from the same clam shell devices that's been used before. They had the keys wearing out, scratches and the batteries were not lasting on their current devices so it was time to upgrade! This new upgrade red Doro came with a charging dock, and external screen which saves mum trying to open it to see who it is calling and for around £60-70 its a bargain. Its only 2G but with 3G being phased out in 2022 I am not bothered. (Little worried about 2025+ possible 2G possible phase out also)Ok so its basic but lets face it you are not buying this for social media or imessage! My mums texts are often reply's of 'OK' or 'XXX'. Also they don't use any data at all.So what's the only issues with it? Well these are the same as before. Its just needs software on a PC that you can connect it via the USB and transfer the Telephone numbers across and all the messages rather than the normal SIM transfer than can only be done on the keypad and takes ages. Also updating the Wallpaper, adding any 'ABBA' ringtones rather than the poor selection. Surely in 2021 we can have a Doro link software to make all the sons and daughters task of swapping a parents Doro mobile over to the new model easier?!Other than that its Great!

Ideal for old people, my 89 year old mum finds the big buttons great and does not like smart phones, so this is ideal

Large, clear screen
I bought this for my 86 year old sister who, so far, is delighted with the ease of use and how easy the screen is to see. It's too early to tell how it holds up or compares in other areas and she does have to charge the battery each night but as she is house-bound that's not an issue. She also took to texting easily and is delighted that the 'phone does what she wants - i.e. make telephone calls and the occasional text. She explicitly didn't want all the fal-di-rol associated with smartphones so that's another plus. She also reports that the volume is much better than on previous mobile 'phones she has had.
