Will not cut through 1-1/2" and 2" sch 40 pvc pipe without shattering the pipe. Works OK on smaller pvc (1" and less) pipe. Since pvc tends to be more brittle than pex or black plastic, it may be just fine for them.

I would absolutely not recommend buying this product. I bought it for my Dad for his birthday and it has already broken, I will be sending it back and trying to get a refund asap.

We read the only review, being one star, but still decided to give this a try. It works GREAT! I am not sure how they would have been able to break, they are very well built. The walls on 3" pex (SDR9) are approx .360" or just under 3/8 of an inch, and this cutter goes right through them. These are very large, measuring 19" long overall, the long handles give you the leverage you need to make the work easy.
