Hundreds upon hundreds of examples of some of the greatest art in the world
Such an informative book. Hundreds upon hundreds of examples of some of the greatest art in the world. The history and time periods of the artwork are clearly stated and easy to understand. I have learned so much from accessing this book for one of my college courses. I would recommend this book to anyone even remotely interested in art. It makes you want to visit every work of art ever created. The only issue is the cost of the book if you wanted to own it. All school textbooks are outrageous in price! But the option of renting the book for a minimum of two months for around 80% less money is a fantastic offer!

This arrived on time and in good condition, decent textbook.
Thank goodness I could order this thing at a cheap price. The college I'm going to was trying to make everyone pay for it at full- price. Its a good book, for beginner artists or beginners at studying art history. Really easy to study. The only college textbook that I WON'T get rid of. I'm keeping it.

MISSING ACCESS CODE
I rented this book and it did not come with an access card. So that was quite frustrating, considering I paid to have it with it ( $45.19 to be specific). Otherwise, the used textbook served its purpose for my Fine Arts 101 course.

Dissapointing made in China
Sadly, not even as good as the old Bundy models. They are now made in China (just like the Bach Prelude series). Valve response and the quality of valve caps, fit & finish are typical of Chinese-made horns. Latches on case are very cheap. Just not up to what we've become accustomed to in Bach-Selmer products.

The exact book I needed for my art class. I’m glad I was able to rent it through amazon without having to buy it.

Still not convinced
The book is titled "the power of art" but I've never struggled to read through a textbook like I did with this one. I honestly fell asleep a few times. The explanations are too much on some parts and not enough for others. Also, the author really needed someone to remind them that not everyone cares about the theory of art - it should've been written by someone who understands that not everyone appreciates art and that some are just buying it for a class.

Good for 1st year art history
I had to buy this book for a class i was a teaching assistant for and it is easy to read with little overly-technical jargon. That said, it does not cover anything in depth but is a great starting out point for first year university courses.
