Mother Bruce-Mother Bruce, Book 1 (Mother Bruce Series)

Bruce is a bear - a blue one, and a grumpy one. His character is not overly sanitized - he is a bear, after all, and he does bearish things to the critters around him - but he's basically a decent fellow (for a bear), and it's this aspect of his personality that the author spins into a funny and charming story. Kids of all ages will find Bruce to be likeable (for a bear), and his basic decency is a something they might want to emulate.I've read how some right-wing loons in Florida got bent out of shape over goslings following their mama "even when she is a he", but you really have to try hard to twist that into anything remotely offensive. (Happily, the book is a best-seller, and the added publicity should only help keep it so.)

Loved this book! Used it with my class for a week. We covered vocabulary, leveled readers, etc from something I had found on teachers pay teachers. It was a great read and myStudents loved this story!

We read to our son every night at bedtime. The Bruce series books are our absolute favorite. I love how humor is included in all the books, along with the amazing storylines and illustrations. We own every Bruce book out there and look forward to all new ones on their way.

This quirky book and the rest of the series make wonderful gifts. It’s my go to for ages 3-8. Kids love the humor and adults appreciate the situations and quality of writing, making it one of those book(s) that are family favorites.

Cute story about a grumpy bear! Great illustrations that will make adults and children laugh! Fun book to share with children.

The book is a great, hilarious story, but arrived just reeking of cigarette smoke that had tried to be masked by incredibly strong cologne. Customer service was prompt and fantastIc and offered a seamless refund.

I was so empressed with this book. My grandchildren love reading this book.

Abbiamo preso Be Quiet, Hotel Bruce e Mother Bruce ed il mio bimbo di quattro anni e mezzo adora tutta la serie di Bruce... e delle paperette che lo scambiano per la loro mamma, ma questo forse è quello che lo diverte di piu' (anche Be Quiet e le "onomatopee").Ogni mattina "dobbiamo" giocare che io sono Bruce e lui una delle paperette...
