The way to buy
My dealer doesn’t carry this because he wants to sell the small shock packages that end up costing at least four times as much, likely more! This will last a long time with a small amount once a week.

Good value
A lot of dazzling names out there but it’s the chemical composition that is nearly identical in all these shock products, so ignore the names and check the active ingredients. We use the frog system, but their shock is outrageously expensive on a per oz basis. Plus this stuff has a higher percentage of the active ingredient. For our small spa, I use about 1 oz once every week or two and it’s been keeping the water pristine. The frog system is pretty simple and does well, maybe a bit more cost but takes little attention. I find a bit of chlorine based shock and a bit of calcium for hardness control periodically keep our spa water well controlled. Looking at a handful of competing products this was the most cost effective at the time.
