This book exceeds all my expectations. The 24 views of Venice by Canaletto at Woburn are his largest and most important series of paintings. This book presents all of them in grand style. At first the painting is presented on a full page and then on subsequent pages some sections of the painting are enlarged giving each of them either a full page without any border and sometimes two pages(30 cm+30 cm=60 cm in length ) without any border. The freshness of the paintings are enhanced by the awesome print quality. Waiting long for a decent book on Canaletto having large reproductions of his paintings. This book is a pleasant surprise for me.

I’ve always wanted to have a record of the Woburn Abbey Canaletto’s. This is a wonderful book with clear/vibrant photos. The author yet again outdone himself.
