After borrowing TWITW from the library last year, my children (6 & 8) are delighted that we now own a copy. ❤️

I would like to amend my other review. I ordered this book 11/25 and it arrived today finally, in good condition. The seller contacted me and updated the shipping and arrival to a date later than previously expected. I was happy to receive the book. This is a lovely edition though the print is a bit small, so if you are a grandmother like me take that into account.

After reading the earlier review before purchasing this Kindle edition I checked to ensure that there is a linked table of contents and can confirm that there is one. Unfortunately it is easy to believe that the table provided does not work. But do not fear - it does. This is the more cumbersome type of table of contents. One must first move the cursor down to the table until a box surrounding the table appears. One then clicks the cursor to enter into the box which takes one into the box and the working linked table. Once in the table one uses the cursor in the standard way to select the entry point that one desires. (The instructions on how to enter the table by clicking the cursor appear in the instruction box at the bottom of the Kindle screen when one reaches the outlining box.) There is also a linked table of illustrations - which also works. I haven't read the text yet and therefore cannot comment on the formatting of this electronic edition.

The book does have smaller print than the average book, but it doesn't bother me enough to exchange it. I wanted a hardcover copy of my favorite book, and I couldn't pass on the original sketches. If you have a hard time reading smaller text, you might want to get a different copy, but other than that, it's perfect!

I read this book in one long sleepless night at around age 11 (I think). It has stuck with me ever since. I still think of it whenever I return to a place repeatedly and see the same critters, not same species but same individuals. You have a kid who likes animals, you should buy him/her this book, just in case.

This book is so delightful!! It truly lifts your spirits as you become immersed in the relationship, and the world of all the animals.Love the imagery! Highly recommend it to anyone who needs an escape from this gray, pandemic world of reality.

Buying the right book with the original illustrations

Grandson is loving this book he is doing wind in the willows at school and reading the book gives him confidence to talk at school about the story brilliant book and super illustrations

Descubrí este clásico de la literatura inglesa hace poco, a través de unas reseñas. Describe la vida y la naturaleza desde el punto de vista de unos animales del bosque. El texto tiene gran calidad literaria, incluso un nivel de lengua elevado, y esta edición es preciosa, llena de ilustraciones a color, grandes y pequeñas. Esta es la versión tapa dura, muy cuidada en los detalles (en inglés). Una obra para desconectar del mundo y conectar con la naturaleza. Muy recomendable.

Lovely story with beautiful illustrations by EH Shepard (more famous for winnie the pooh).

Niestety piękna, wartościowa książka i piękne rysunki Sheparda zostały przyćmione przez fatalny dobór czcionki. Czcionka jest zbyt mała, aby umożliwić komfortowe czytanie. W załączeniu zdjęcia przedstawiające dwie wersje wydania. Książka w białej okładce zostaje z nami, a tą w zielonej okładce, którą kupiłam dla syna niestety zwracamy, gdyż ani syn ani ja nie chcemy się męczyć z tak małą czcionką.
