Gritty crime thriller, from director Stuart St Paul, about a group of Russian criminals operating a sex trade in the heart of Northern England. Led by the ruthless Cristi (Danny Midwinter), the gang kidnaps and traffics a group of Eastern Europeans to Leeds, forcing the men into illegal fighting and the women into the sex industry. When they capture local businessman Gabe Taylor (Billy Murray)'s daughter, however, things turn ugly, and it's a race against time to get her back alive in time for her wedding.

The British TAKEN?! For a select few just maybe
Firstly I am a Fairbrass fan, I like macho cockney geezers, I like Brit films and I like action underdog films. This is clearly all four of these. This makes it a cult film for a select few only. It will suffer from Hollywood comparisons (Taken, Face, Lock Stock, Rise of, Essex Boys even Love, Honour and Obey all miles better) and that is a shame as it is a small film (£2 mill budget) that needs to be judged as it stands alone. I guess it is ambitious from a small team, but I accept it is an easy current story laced with masculine themes and action. If you are up for a brainless revenge chase action romp then this has all the content needed, with dodgy simple acting and accents throughout.Freight will get slated but I enjoyed it. It is relatively well paced, shot in good definition and a solid enough Brit Movie. Fairbrass and Murray team up once again (Dead Cert) and this is their best film by far. Many critics will question these TV actors (soap EastEnders) intent on being movie stars (however small a film) but for fans of the Danny Dyer genre of modern Brit gangster films this is a good watch.Romanian sex-trafficking gang steal a toilet trailer with son in law inside, from a Boxing Club gangster. They go to get it back, using over the top force, killing a few of the gang. Evil leader Christie gets revenge by bombing the boxing club, and stealing Taylor's daughter. The revenge games then begin, with a dose of cage fighting, prostitution out of a strip club and the usual guns and explosive killings to find his daughter.Better than Bonded by Blood, but not as good as Rise of The Footsoldier.

What a brilliant comedy
Hahahahaha what a black comedy. I am not sure who was on whose side there was just chaos and destruction as we went from one fight scene to another. Punch ups and numerous geezers getting shot to death with pistols with silencers fitted. As usual Craig Fairbrass was just a big teddy bear talking tough. Self styled 'Tough guy' Billy Murray always blabs on about running with the Krays years ago and that he did some cage fighting ! What he fails to say is that he was fighting in a hamster cage ! Was this film produced, directed and made by the same crowd who did the 'Carry On Films' ? Great fun cheered up my night no end !

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's taken me about 4 hours to finish because I keep rewinding to appreciate how bad the acting is 😂 from 1h20 onwards Cristi completely forgets what accent he's meant to be doing 😂 goes from South London,to American,to Italian mobster then back to a londerner that's spent the summer holidays in Moscow 😂 the not so subtle political speeches are so cringe, sorta statements you'd hear at kicking out time on st George's Day 😂 shocking film but bet it was a laugh on set 😂

A British Thriller......Enough Said
If you like a healthy slice of realism in your films, I don't think Freight is going to satisfy. The main thrust of the story involves a violent war between toilet salesmen and Russian sex traffickers, resulting in copious beatings and shootings in broad daylight. Therefore, you'd imagine that the long arm of the law might be interested in reaching out and giving some of these sleazy, homicidal dirtballs a slap. Well I can only assume the entire police force had the day off, because there's not so much as a sniff of the boys in blue. The biggest problem with this film is it has no credibility, plus the screenplay is truly terrible and the actors haven't been well directed. Danny Midwinter enjoys his role as the villain and Craig Fairbrass is always good value, but the majority of the cast buckle under the weight of their flabby and over-ripe dialogue. However, there are a couple of valid reasons to watch Freight- Laura Aikman and Natalie Anderson, two utterly GORGEOUS actresses.

Thrill ride!
I think that this is one of Billy Murray's best films. Everyone who knows him knows that he is the ultimate action guy - a superb actor who puts everything into his performance to make it credible. He did a few scenes in Coronation Street and brought that to life! If you are a fan then this is a must have for your collection. This film is not for the faint hearted but if you like serious action films this is the one. Enjoy!
