Up and running
The hard drive (for my ancient Dell 15 N5110) arrived at the promised time, and it was packaged to make sure that it arrived in one piece. There were no installation instructions (understandable because it would fit a variety of models), and I’m not a computer technician. That said, with some help from the internet I was able to do the installation and restore files from a Windows 10 backup of the defunct hard drive. I’ve only used it for a week, but it seems to be running well.If there is one thing that would have enhanced this purchase, it would be a resource list of useful web pages to refer to. As mentioned, I tracked down enough information myself to do the installation, but it was lengthy process.
