Murderous Maths: The Secret of Sums

Our son loves the Murderous Maths series. These are British books that have been recombined for the US publication. Each US volume is equal to two books originally published in the UK. They are a bit snarky, but introduce lots of great math concepts. Our son loves these and rereads them quite often. There's a full website for Murderous Maths and lots of additional books.

My 9 year old kid loves it! She finished the book in one day. Though the latter half of the book (sums on fractions and decimals) was too tough, she enjoyed reading it. These have not yet been taught in her school, but the book has got her curiosity piqued.

very descriptive and basic, well written to aid grasping the meaning of maths and how to work through sums, easy for kids to understand and build solid foundations.

It is fun read for my 8-yr old, but she may not be grasping all the nuances. But the book keeps her interested. Another read a year later will be unravel another layer to her.

Our six year old loves this it is right at the level of learning she needs right now. She likes reading and learning about maths. Totally recommend.
