Purchased rod and reel for son’s birthday. He reports that he loves it and his twin brother now wants one as well.

Very nice. I prefer the golf grip others may not. Love the reel and can’t wait to hit the water soon!

This rod is terribly weak, you definitely get what you pay for, broke on 2nd trip, the pre strung line is terrible, and i will updat on the real itself when i put it on another rod. I guess i should have known better than to buy cheap.

Works fine casting and reeling, sturdy and easy to use. But the bottom of the rod is way too long. Also way to much line on the reel when purchased, so much that it may become tangled when casting right away.

We ordered two of these rods, through Amazon, so we could take our grandchildren (experienced fishermen - ages 9 and 15) to the lake to fish. We used them for the first time on 8/15.We rigged both reels with bobbers and hooks. Once done, the reels did not lock to keep the lines from spooling out. We increased the drag to maximum to prevent spooling out of the line. This did not resolve that problem. Also, the spooling out of the line during transport to the lake (5 miles from our house) resulted in hopeless tangling of the lines.We had to cut the line in three places to separate the rods. We were able to re-rig one rod which then functioned badly during casting and reeling in and resulted in further entanglement of the line.Disappointed, we had to cut our outing short because fishing with this rod and reel was a large problem and not fun.We hope there is a way to return the two rods and reels and get a full refund.
