Great hose and brushes.... Everything else is not so good.
After I ordered this kit, I let a few messes in my house build up in anticipation of arrival, and last night I took my new hose out of the box and went on a cleaning binge. The hose in this kit is perfect. It's everything the default Shop-Vac hose isn't. It's basically a long steel spring with a flexible polymer cover. It's wide, it's long, and it seems really durable. Vaccuming up chunks of plaster and thinset that had been chiseled away from an old wall - a task that would have clogged the original hose in seconds - was easy. Wood shavings from using a block plane were no problem. A big pile of sawdust got sucked up, and I didn't even get a static shock. Also of high quality are the floor tool, the upholstry brush and the swivel end. They're all made out of either grey rubber, injection molded plastic, or a combination. What isn't so good about this kit are the rest of the parts. The claw tools are a great idea, but they and the extension poles have a few problems. First is how they attach to the hose. They get shoved into a soft rubber socket. It's tough to change tools, and it means that you can't use the claw tools on the extension pole. Also, the construction of the pole segments and the claws is similar to a wiffle ball bat that had the ends chopped off with a power saw. They all flex and feel cheap when connecting them together. With the high quality of the hose and some of the attachments, it's unfortunate that they chose to make the rest of the parts as poorly as they did. I'd rather they had included fewer parts that were all well made than include as many "free" pieces as they did.

Great hose, OK tools; fits Fein vacuums
I have a Fein vacuum in my workshop. It's expensive but quiet and powerful. It comes with a 16' hose but no tools. The hose doesn't have a standard-sized end, so it's not easy to find a substitute for the hundred-plus dollar accessory set Fein wants to sell you. The Mr. Nozzle set has an excellent 16' hose and it comes with three plastic wands and a set of floor and carpet tools. It's not inexpensive but it's more reasonably priced than the Fein tools and just as functional. The plastic wands aren't as elegant as the stainless steel ones you get with the "genuine" brand but they feel tough enough and they have tapered ends for a secure fit. The plastic floor tools are OK -- functional and replaceable at the local home center if they wear out. If you have a European cannister shop vacuum/dust extractor (Fein or Festool) and you're looking for an alternative to the manufacturer's accessory set, this is a "good enough" choice.

8 years and still going strong
I bought this kit 8 years ago on a friend's recommendation, and it's actually outlived the utility of my old vacuum. The longer hose is enough to clean off many one-story stairwells and interior rooms without moving the vacuum. I really like the wide floor brush attachment--it does a better job on carpet or on tile/hard surfaces than any other I've tried. The longer orange angled tip is also great for cleaning up in small areas or in cracks. If you slam the 18" extensions in your truck doors enough times, they'll eventually break, but not to worry, many old household vacuum cleaners use the same ones in various colors so you'll probably come across replacements at tag sales or when the customer starts filling your dumpster with their junk.Only complaint is that the end of the hoses sometimes unscrew themselves when you're using them, but it's easy enough to just screw them right back on.They aren't kidding when they say this is the last vac tool kit you'll ever need.

Fabulous Hose
This hose is a great improvement over the stiff, kinky, too short, 1 1/4" hose that came with my shop vac. It's a bigger inside diameter and suction is much improved. I also like the claw tool and large crevise tool.I am only giving it four stars because I regret not just getting the Mr. Nozzle 30 dollar kit (100n, I think), which includes only the hose and above mentioned attachments. I was lured into getting this deluxe kit by the extra 3 feet of hose and extra attachments, but for the most part the extra attachments just duplicate what I already had. I know this is my bad, not the company's, but unless you specifically need the normal shop vac attachments, save youself 20 dollars and get the smaller kit. You could put the amount you saved toward getting the 12' additional extension hose and never have to roll your vac again!

Superb hose; the rest is sub-par
I should have listened to the other reviewers, but I really wanted this set to work. The hose is excellent, as many have stated. Five stars on that, no question. But the tools are sub-par. The plastic is very cheap (thin in some cases, hard/brittle in others), and not anywhere near the quality of the hose. And, as another reviewer mentioned, the interchangeability of attachments is overly complicated. For example, certain tools have to be used with the extension wand, and can't be connected directly to the hose. Other attachments need an adapter. That is unlike any other vacuum I've owned, including Miele, Craftsman, Ridgid, and Fein, where parts are easily interchanged in different configurations. It's just not well engineered, and should be simpler.People buying this hose clearly want a better product than what comes with a standard wet/dry vac (and are willing to pay extra for that) -- why make a kit with such poor quality tools? Disappointing.

Very good kit
I recently purchased a Festool CT-33 vacuum/dust extractor to connect with my non-Festool woodworking tools. The Festool cleaning kit was more than double the cost of this kit. I own a Festool hose that came with the vac and a Mr. Nozzle hose. Both hoses are of similar quality.I've read reviews that criticized this kit for "non-standardized" hose size. I find that humorous. What is a standardized hose or vacuum size? Is it; 4", 2 5/8", 2 1/2", 2 1/4", 1 1/2", 1 1/4" or maybe it's even metric? The beauty of Mr. Nozzle is that they offer a lot of different adapters. While not every option is available with this kit (a lot are) Mr. Nozzle itself provides a lot of choices to meet your needs. It just so happens that the kit that Amazon offers is such a good value that it's often cheaper to buy the kit than to purchase individual pieces from another Mr. Nozzle source.
