Very poor translation
It is a simple start up beginners book, but, the translation is abominable. That is the problem.

Something lost in the Translation
I cannot recommend this book to anyone. No one bothered to proof read the book after its translation to English. The recorder is frequently referred to as an answering machine or dictaphone.Anyone interested in learning to play the recorder would be discouraged after reading this booklet.

The Translation is Terrible!
Others have pointed this out. Here are some quotes:"Tape recorders made of wood and plastic can be found in good musical instrument stores or online." I've lived a long time but have never seen a wooden tape recorder."Some recorders, usually those used in schools, are just one room.” The multi-room recorders must be for advanced players."Take the answering machine and put the mouthpiece on your lips". My favorite. I only wished they had included an illustration of this.Don't waste your money on this book.

Kindle edition English translation unreadable and nonsensical
The explanations in this book are useless because whatever translation tool was used interpreted “recorder “ as the device used to record sound rather than the musical instrument. Therefore, the explanations make no sense.

Awful
This is either a very bad translation or a terrible OCR job or both. Not readable. Parts make zero sense.

Description flatters to deceive. Buyer beware!
At best, so basic as to be no use - one part tells you which way up to hold it. At worst, it is unintelligible in parts, as if written in a foreign language and put through machine translation. What is the answer machine stuff all about? Doesn't appear to have been proof read before publication.Having this on sale does Amazon's credibility no good.I returned it immediately.

Absolute Rubbish
Look at the title of the book for a start. The book contained photocopied pictures off of the internet. Very poor quality throughout. It was obviously translated from a foreign language by computer otherwise they would call a recorder an ‘answering machine’ and other various slip ups which made the entirety of the book not make sense. Total rubbish… DO NOT BUY!!!

They keep referring to the musical instrument as the "answering machine."
At 49 years old I decided it was time to learn how to play an instrument. I decided on the recorder because I figure if that's what they teach kids in grade 2 I should be able to pick it up. I bought this book to help me learn. The only way I can describe this book is total garbage. It is so poorly translated from whatever language it was written in that it is almost useless. You can see in the picture I have provided that they keep referring to the recorder, which is a musical instrument, as "the answering machine" this has happened twice in the first 10 pages of the book. It is virtually impossible to comprehend what they are talking about. If you are going to have a book translated I suggest you find somebody that understands both languages to do so. Do yourself a favour and get yourself another book to learn how to play the recorder because apparently this book wants to teach you how to use your answering machine.

Absolute Trash
This is the most goofy trash book I've ever bought. All the other negative reviews are correct. This is auto-translated from some other language and is completely incomprehensible. I'd add a quote, but what to chose? Every page is just utter trash. It refers repeatedly refers to pictures that aren't in the book, but just includes the mistranslated names of image files instead. I'll just end with these words of wisdom from the book: "You are starting players battle with the system, with little else to consider. Anyway, as the office develops, specialized difficulties decrease". This book will in no way help you decrease your specialized difficulties!

Poorly translated into English
This book could be useful; however, its translation into English is laughable! "Recorder" has been translated into "answering machine" and "tape recorder" throughout the book. How such an amateurish effort got to press is mindboggling!! This book's only virtue is comic relief!!
