My granddaughter 14mo old keeps picking this book to read. While reading she recognizes Tad and Big Blub.

The media could not be loaded. Tad by Benji Davies has quickly become a favorite in our house! I love that this book is all about building self-esteem and teaching kids that they can do anything they set their minds to. The message is so empowering, especially for my 8-year-old who is just starting to realize her potential. Plus, it's the perfect book for spring—fresh, uplifting, and full of life! And the illustrations? Absolutely adorable. This is definitely a must-have for any bookshelf!

The smallest tadpole gets discouraged sometimes. All the rest of her pals seem to grow faster, develop their legs sooner, and even lose their tails. To make things even harder, she has to always be on the watch for Big Blub, a mean fish. One day after all the rest of her pals have grown up, she has to swim faster than ever before to escape Big Blub, and suddenly realizes she's grown up, too. The pictures in this book tell the tale nicely and author - illustrator Davies knows just how to contrast the darker depths of water with a bright spots of wiggles and flashes of humor. If you have any kids who are developing a little slower than the rest and running out of patience, this might give them some courage.
