Great book and author
Great book and author! To all, please discover the mentioned "The University Players theater Guild" (UPG) 1928 - 32, Old Silver Beach - Falmouth, Massachusetts, co-founded by Charles (Crane) Leatherbee (my uncle) and Bretaigne Windust. Majority of actors, directors, and related assistants were under-graduate and/or recent graduates of ivy league (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc.) and the seven sister (Radcliffe. Vassar, Barnard, etc.) schools. Notable members that were later successful in Broadway theater and Hollywood film, and alike: Henry Fonda, Margaret Sullavan, James Stewart, Joshua Logan, John Swope, Myron McCormick, Kent Smith, Barbara O’ Neil, Mildred Natick, etc. many hired famous agent and producer Leland Hayward to further their careers, and maintained a close relationship. Books related to the aforementioned and their remarkable life of success, tragedy, etc.: 1) But Not Forgotten, The Adventure of the University Players, by Norris Houghton (UPG member), 1951 hard cover with dust jacket; 2) 20th anniversary 1971 reprint of the above with no dust jacket; 3) The Fondas, by John Springer, 1970 hard cover with dust jacket; 4) *my personal favorite - Josh My Up and Down, In and Out Life, by Joshua Logan, 1976 hard cover with dust jacket; also available in smaller hard copy as a book club edition, and as a paper back; 5) Movie Stars, Real People, and Me, by Joshua Logan, 1978 hard back with dust jacket; 6) Haywire, by Brooke Hayward (daughter of Leland Hayward and Margaret Sullavan), 1977 hard copy. Also, a 1980 four-hour multi-part production of CBS-TV; and 7) Fonda My Life, as told by Howard Teichman, 1981 hard copy with dust jacket. In all, an important Cape Cod college theater venture and the remarkable people that should not be forgotten.

A Gift of History
The author’s passion for history, and meticulous detective work, have given us the stories of the people whose lives shaped the evolution, and, in some cases, preserved much of the beauty, of this semi-rural area in the middle of a modern suburb. Thanks, Les Garrick!
