Good sizes and mesh size, good price, but not well finished
Positives:2 different sizes (small size just right for one large pot of yogurt)Rounded bottoms are better than square bags, I findGood price for 4 bagsMedium mesh/micron size - about 100 - 150 micron, I'd guessNegatives:Top seams not well finishedString used is very thin, not proper cordNo mesh or micron size statedThese arrive in a simple plastic pouch. I like the 2 sizes, and the shape, with the rounded bottoms. For 4 bags, this is a good price, considering you can pay more for a single bag. However, the strings are a joke, not nearly as thick as shown in the product images, and far thinner than on either of my other 2 bags (see 4th photo, compared to thicker ones). They used 2 strings, to make up for how thin they are (like thin crochet cotton for lace).. but 2 thin strings are not the same as one thicker cord, and both together are still far thinner than they should be. Top seams are finished only with straight stitching (see 5th image), whereas my other 2 bags (see 6th image) either used overlocking (that one cost more than these 4, though), or doubled the seam, so that there was no raw edge (that one was around £5, but larger and 75 micron). These are about 100 - 150 micron, I would guess. I have one 75 micron and one 200 micron, and these are somewhere in between.. With microns, the smaller the number, the smaller the holes, with US mesh sizes, it's reversed, the larger the number, the smaller the holes. 100 microns would be about 150 mesh, or 0.0041" or 0.105 mm. These are about right for nut milk, have included a photo (last one) of extracting whey from store bought yogurt, and you can see the liquid is dripping at a decent pace, without any actual yogurt coming through - unless you touch the bowl, then you get smears. For soy or nut milk from solids, these might be a bit dense, you'd maybe be better off with slightly larger mesh, say 200 micron. These will give a clean milk, I'd guess, with no solids, but might take a bit longer.Overall, these are decent, for the price, and work fine, but I wish now I'd paid a bit more and got better quality. I mainly chose these for the 2 sizes. I would've preferred only one of each size, but a better quality finish, with thicker cords. Will maybe change the cords.. I was torn between 4 and 5 stars, would give 4.5 if I could, as due to low price, I can't really complain too much about the details.. so 5 stars.
