If you read reviews of shampoo bars, the one thing you will notice is that they are all over the place. Some people get great results, while others hate them. It's hard to imagine they are talking about the same product. But people are very individual, and your hair and skin and diet, etc, will have a unique reaction to a product like this.I very much wanted to reduce the use of personal care products with chemicals in them, so I took a chance on this bar. By the way, I used dowsing to select the brand and 'flavor', and I couldn't be more happy with it.The bar lathers easily and my hair lathers quickly with it. When I rinse it out, my hair is a bit 'sticky' feeling, like that hard water feeling. We have very hard water here in the desert. They say you can use a dilute vinegar rinse, but I tried it without, and I have been very happy.If you are used to a conditioner, you will probably find your hair tangles slightly, but I have very thick hair, and it was not an objectionable amount of tangling. A comb easily took care of it. My hair felt soft once it dried. Another weird thing I noticed is that the blonde is coming back. I'm 68, and my hair has become brown instead of blonde as I got older, and with each shampoo, it is getting blonde highlights. Subtle, but not so subtle my husband didn't see them. Maybe it's stripping something off the hair. Who knows?I would recommend this product for anyone who wants to limit chemical exposure. It works great, smells lovely and I am never going back to other shampoos.

I love this product. I was a little concerned that bar shampoo wouldn't work that well. But it does. It foams up nicely and leaves my hair feeling awesome! It also is nice for a body wash bar as the coconut oil in it leaves your skin feeling wonderful but doesn't leave your hair feeling oily. Highly recommend

It smells great and works well - lots of fine foamy suds come from this bar applied to my wet hand or directly to my hair. My hair feels and behaves so much more naturally with this great shampoo bar. I just let it air dry now, apply whatever after shampoo product - for me it's "It's a 10 Haircare Miracle Coily" Leave-in Product, 4 oz.It's a 10 Haircare Miracle Coily Leave-in Product, 4 oz. (2021 REVIEW)I was using Ethique shampoo bars previously and liked them, but didn't *love* them... especially for the price.This Moon Valley bar is HALF the cost as Ethique and you get a larger bar. My hair seems to be cleaner after this bar than Ethique's.I have a very dry, itchy, flaky scalp plus oily hair, and have tried a thousand different products to control it. The usual dandruff / itchy scalp shampoos and treatments do nothing for me, else they make matters worse.Lately I've been using this Tea Tree bar (in conjunction with a homemade coconut + sunflower + tea tree hair mask once or twice a week plus vinegar rinse), and this bar seems to really help with both itching and flaking! I've seen a noticeable improvement since switching, even between masks and rinses.It does really seem to pull a lot more grime and oil off my hair though, so conditioner is not optional with this even for my naturally greasy locks. It's not especially drying exactly, it just doesn't leave anything behind.Love the eco-friendly packaging, too. These guys have a customer for life~(2023 UPDATE)Still 5 stars... wish I could give it more. After several weeks of this bar in 2021, I stopped bothering with the vinegar rinses and hair masks. My hair seemed to even out on its own without needing too much extra conditoning. Most importantly, my itchy, flaky scalp of old is GONE. Today, I ONLY use:- This Moon Valley shampoo bar- A homemade spray-in conditioner made from rose water, witch hazel, vegetable glycerin, and a few drops of lavender + tea tree oil- a couple ml of pure Argan essential oil as a leave-in conditionerI can now go up to 3 days without washing my hair, and I still have no itching, flaking, or hot spots. My home remedies are helping make my hair softer, but the shampoo bar is definitely doing the heavy lifting on my scalp.I've tried some samples of other shampoos since my original review in 2021 and immediately noticed a (bad) difference. Nothing can touch this bar.As long as they don't change their recipe, I'm still a Moon Valley "Tea Tree" shampoo bar lifer.

These shampoos clean my hair nicely and last a long time. Extra bonus is the fact that I’m not buying a product with plastic packaging!

I had been using a clean shampoo and conditioner and wanted to try a shampoo bar to reduce plastic waste. I first found this brand in a store while traveling and tried it out. I love the clean and simple ingredients. I now use this only without conditioner, and my thinner hair feels fuller. I wash usually every other day. I also love that this is a small biz brand.

I so wanted to love this shampoo, it is local to me and ships through Amazon.However, this shampoo bar just doesn’t react well with my hair. I have been using shampoo bars for the past year and a half and this shampoo is just not working. It leaves my hair too oily and crisp(which is a weird combination).It does lather very nicely and smells really good. It just doesn’t work with my hair.Side note, not good for color treated hair. It seemed to strip the color within a few days.
