In order for this device to function in any "smart" capacity you must download an app, which is expected and no problem. The problem is that the app, after asking for every permission your phone can grant (why does it need access to the microphone or contacts?), will ask you to download an "update", not from your app store but from a shady third party site known to distribute viruses and malware. Oh, and it wants all of your wifi info, even though a device like this should only need bluetooth access.

Absolutely love this. It paid for itself the second I used it. went to the doctor while ago because my ear was bleeding and it hurt. Doctor said it was irritated looked fine. still bugged me and just felt like something was in there. bought this little babe And I noticed that one of my dog's hair was half inbedded into my eardrum. This amazing tool helped me get it out. I'm in love.

This cleaning product works amazingly well and I love how easy it makes it to see inside. Its wifi-only connected through its own private connection to make for a video capture with about 15ms delay.But the problems lie in the app. It keeps begging to know my location, and if I cancel for security reasons, it shuts down the app. This is not an app that needs my location to know which ear it's going into. The English is horrible and very hard to read instructions. The app still works if I select to go to settings and then back out of settings, not allowing location info for the app. And you have to change your devices wifi to the ear scoop every time you turn it on. But of a hassle, but again, works great for the cost.

So I’m 32, I do landscaping and construction so there’s always stuff getting into my ears. For 3 days I was dealing with a super painful ear ache and with all COVID19 stuff going around it’s hard to get into a clinic. So I was like what’s the worst that could happen getting this?!? Boy howdy this thing is amazing!!!! Connected to my iPhone in seconds, didn’t bother with the WiFi just used my data on my phone and went to work!!!! Pulled out all kinds of debris from my ear and keep in mind I did this all solo just watching the video feed on my phone. Pains gone all the kinks out of my ear and I feel 1000 times better knowing I can safely see what’s in there and being able to get it out!!! Buying 4 more for the rest of my siblings and mom!!! 1000000% worth the money. AND IT WAS NEXT DAY DELIEVERY!!!!

Don't update or allow permissions! Really hope folks read this.TLDROn app start do not update it.Do not accept ANY permissions.Only connect your phone to it's wifi adhoc.Longer answer:The update circumvents all app store code validations. It is either dangerous code or lazy oversight by the developer. Given the quality of the app itself I strongly believe the former. Notice that it will want to use its own servers for downloadGoogle and Apple has some (admittedly small) quality control measures on their app stores. If a developer updates an app they submit the new version to the play store so users dont have to immediately download all the updates after install. This is all part of a normal CI/CD pipeline.There are exceptions to this. Small devs or lazy practices can be one, but the app itself is shockingly high quality for an ear thingy. I don't believe dev discipline to be the case.What is happening here is clearly an attempt to circumvent the process by a nebulous chinese company. They want you to connect it to your wifi. Why is that when the built in adhoc works fine. What purpose does providing location information give?So, by following instructions you have a piece of unverified code running on your cell phone with access to your home network. This company will vanish in 6 months and the exact same software and hardware will re-emerge under a different name.Because of the nature of how these companies work and Amazon's laissez-faire approach it is endemic. This post will be gone with the company, as reviews are lost when a product is no longer available and folks like me don't have the time to call this stuff out all day long. If you've read this, spread this message. It isnt just stupid ear cleaners (which actually doeswork pretty fantastic in the constraints I outline) but every IoT device coming from overseas.

I got my order today and was trying it out on my ears when all of a sudden the silicone + plastic part just unclipped inside my ear. It is now stuck inside and I have to go a doctor tomorrow to get it removed. PLEASE DO NOT BUY. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS.

Very easy to set up. I was able to remove a jellybean sized clump of wax from my ear. As long as you are careful and have a steady hand, this product works great.

Out of morbid curiosity I ordered this. I ended up scoping the entire family including the dog. So easy to use, a very clear picture, and holds a charge for a long time. It is also very easy to clean. I highly recommend for the price point.
