Good quality, easy to fit and looks factory
Not sure what else to say! The one in my t5.1 van fell apart and this was the replacement. No issues whatsoever.

Ok but needed a little modifying
As other people have found, the gear markings are 45 degrees out. However 30 secs with the hair dryer and the black centre disc came out. Put it back in the correct position and all good. No need to snap tabs off or use glue.

This item resolved a problem.
The original Gear Knob Head Badge fitted on our Bug had deteriorated and simply had to be replaced. The official VW replacement is expensive so after searching we found this alternative that looked very similar. However, the three clips on the underside were not in the same configuration as the original so did not fit. No Problem break them off and glue it to the top of the head. Looks exactly like the original.

Great replacement for 1998 VW Beetle
I wondered whether this would fit on the shift nob of my used 1998 Beetle (2.0 L). I used a little screwdriver to get the old one off that had lost it's shift pattern label and just was left with the clip-on head without the gear pattern image on top. Cleaned up the old surface of dirt. This part snapped right in where the old one was and looks great! If your shift pattern label has come off the top of your new beetle, this probably will work for you. I noticed entire shift handles are not much more. But, I got this anyway.

Not for 2002 VW Golf
The slot pattern does not match the 2002 golf. There are 3 prongs on the knob cap but the pattern on the stick shift is for 4 prongs. Can't trust product specifications.

2006 Beetle 45-degrees off
Nice shiny new one replaced old broken sharp one (both pictured) but it’s 45-degrees to the right. Seems they could’ve specified models it actually fits, but it was super easy to swap out & I can always break the tabs & Gorilla glue it like everyone else did, someday.

Works for my 1998 VW New Beetle
The gear shift cap popped off years ago and this is the first time Amazon has featured a replacement. The tabs on the back had to be snapped off easily with pliers, and some gorilla glue affixed it perfectly! Thanks Amazon!
